Its simple dont buy it until its gone to budget. I for one wont be buying this when it is released I will wait till it drops in price now that I know its going to be like ME2.

I have to say that this really is a deal breaker they cant just scrap this part, i cannot even put into words how much this dissapoints me...

Will definitely wait on this one...maybe til it's in the $10 bargain bin, if at all.

All hope is lost!   Now we just wait for DA3 and pray that Bioware finds their brains before they decide to make it.  I hope DA2 teaches them a valuable lesson  "Don't fix it if it ain't broken"

Bioware has been pretty good about listening to the people who play their games. I hope this will be another example. Limiting the game to human only is a massive mistake. It seems like most of us are looking for DA2, not ME Fantasy, which sounds like what Bioware is attempting with DA2. Many have said that limiting character race is a step backward. I couldnt agree more. I could care less if i hear my characters name in DA2 (especially a name so godawful generic as the one they've chosen..."Hawke"? Why not put an umlaut over the "a" while your at it. It sounds like some character Miles Okeefe would play....) I dunno, Ive come to expect a lot from Bioware and with these initial announcements about DA2 im more than a bit concerned.

Silly, they did listen to their fans when making DA2.

Too bad it was the ME2 fans.

Wow... I guess I'm not gonna pick up Dragon Age 2, as much as I had liked Dragon Age Origins.. If we're only able to play as a human, the story would not only be.. Inferior to Dragon Age Origins, the play time would be much, much less.. As its going to be like Mass Efect 2.. Hopefully BioWare would change their minds about this system, or their gonna have fewer people buying Dragon Age 2, as compared to Dragon Age Origins..

One of the big joys I get from playing an RPG type game is the ability to make the character the way I envision them. Taking this away is quite disappointing.
Are we stuck with a certain class as well?

No offense but your not much of a role player are you? To me it's obvious your not as one of the greatest luxuries to a role player is creating the character your going to play in the image you see them, molding them to fit your liking.

One of the biggest, if not the biggest aspects of role playing seems to be taken away in this game. For those that love role playing games this is a slap in the face.

Sorry but I don't like the idea of it at all. Do we even get to choose what class we are? Doesn't sound like it, but I don't know for sure. I can't be excited about a new Dragon Age coming out, because what I'm hearing is coming out is not the Dragon Age I fell in love with playing.

Bioware had finally the Baldur's gate good heir (even if Dao wasn't as good as baldur's) but with this new line up you're killing the rpg heart of this game. No chance to play a another race is senseless in a medieval fantasy world.



You did such an excellent work with the background of each races and beginning stories as it was interesting how we encountered a character depending if we played a mage or a dwarf. Even if Dragon age wasn't perfect you were close to reach it but turning it as Mass effect like doesn't sounds good at all.



Sure it pretty early for judge it but us the Dragon age's fan can only be worry.



I really hope you'll not kill such an excellent game which gave me so much pleasure to play hours and hours and amazed me how deep was the background of the world's history and all the characters.

The're keeping the character customizing option, but you have to be human, you still get to pick you gender.

It's Mass Effect 2 all over again- played it twice and haven't picked it up since. The lack of options and threat of low re-playability makes this game something I won't buy. Period. It's the same reason I'm not bothering with anymore ME2 DLC. It's all too short for too much.



What happened to Bioware? I think their success if going to their heads. They're going to be like Activision and Ubisoft soon.

Disappointing news...Having different origins (and different races) is the large(st) part of what made DA so good (and fun). I guess I'm old school, as I don't see a 'talking character' as an improvement in rpg. I love bioware, but if I hear another shepard-like voice acting, that love will be put to some serious testing.



I guess the good thing is I won't have to buy an xbox and play fable 3 to see my character 'rise to power' :/
