Only Surname I need is Warden, now back off and keep Dragon Age DRAGON AGE. IM already pissed that the new art style makes Darkspawn look like cranky, sooty retarded orcs (yes RETARDED ORCS is possible people):bandit:

You're in luck, DA2 takes place from around 9:30 to 9:40 Dragon, ergo, during the Dragon Age. Now that that obstacle is out of the way, BUY IT.

The last three responses made me laugh.

God I'm starting to dislike the Warden by proxy.

Dragon age 2 follows the Mass Effect route so you are forced to play as human... in a fantasy game...

i dont know why you all whinne so much i happen to agry with thé guy who said that this is a new game and not origine 2.0 and beside i have heard that your choices do matter if you import your save another thing i hapen to know that da2 begin before continue during and finish after thé blithe you cannot be an already grownup child of morigan so knok it off beside there are so many way to foil thé création that child (refusing thé deal at thé end of dao killing morigan at thé end of witchhunt dlc)

Yep. Just like in Planescape. Or any Ultima after III. Or a large number of other games, which I won't bother listing for you because you've never heard of them and aren't trying to make a serious point anyway.

I think Bioware is dropping the ball here. Who thought throwing the things that made Dragon Age unique out the window would make for a more "Dragon Age experience"? It all seems backwards, they say they made the changes to make DA stand out more, I think all this just makes it another bland rehashing.

Also sucks that since I dont have a Gaming PC I dont get the more strategic feel I wated from DA:O and now they plan to make DA2 even less strategic for consoles <.<

In one screenshot, he is wearing Warden armor. So who knows. I wish I didn't see that one. Spoilers!

Let this thread die. DA2 will be a success, with or without the purchase of a few angry forumites, who barely represent a fraction of the fanbase and are generally pissed off at every minute change they see anyway.

These forums need a graveyard.

I know a game isn't unique after not playing it, and seeing roughly 5 minutes of play time. That or the Doctor is posting on the forums and he is not happy with the changes.

This made me laugh.
a lot of people are mad that the new game is removing features that were used as selling points for the original.  It is hardly a small group there are many people angry, worried or annoyed by it.  the people that are  happy about it seem to mass effect fans, people who disliked the conversation system and fans who think bioware can do no wrong, go on any site ign, amazon, fan sites and fans are split on it.  So dont assume everyone thinks the way you do.  I dont think anyone doubts the game will sell well or be critical success but that does not mean it could not of been better (fable 2 was a success but was a crap game) or done just as well while being more like the first game.

Here's the thing.

I like the Mass Effect series. A lot. I get something completely new and interesting out of it. I liked personalizing my Shepard's face, and didn't mind the changes between the original and 2 much at all, because the basic feel of the game carried across. I've gotten a lot of satisfaction out of it, and I'm really looking forward to the final installment in Shepard's story. The fact that Shepard never felt much like my character didn't matter, because that wasn't the point. His moral choices weren't mine; he was preformatted in a fun kind of way. The story mattered more to me.

But I adored Dragon Age: Origins. The character, because of just HOW personalizable he was, really made me think about my choices. The character felt like me, and I cared about him, and the party members, and the story, exactly as a dedicated reader comes to care for the characters in a book or book series. I cared if Alistair was upset with my choices, the first playthrough when I killed Isolde. I cared when I broke Leliana's heart. I enjoyed dragging Bhelen down from his arrogant height. I was part of the story, a choose-your-own adventure without the cheesiness.

Now they're taking that away, and making Mass Effect: Fantasy.

I'll buy it. I'll play it. I may even enjoy it; I'm open to that possibility. But I can't get past the idea that something has been lost in this translation.

Yes, six origins is an enormous amount of programming; that's why it took so long to write and develop the original game. Each story was different from the beginning, and changed the things people said to you during the game at many points; that takes an immense amount of planning. But the payopff for all that work was a real accomplishment - and we may not ever see it again.

I hate that my Warden is likely gone for good. I hate that this new character is so very limited, because even though there were limits even in the old version, each time you played felt a little different.

So yes, I am disappointed. To me, Bioware, an exemplary gaming company, took the easy way out here by mimicking another one of their games, instead of the more rewarding one.

All of which is just my opinion. As I said, I'll buy 2, and probably enjoy it....but the feeling, even by description, just isn't the same.

I think it sucks I can't play an elf, or a Qunari... but, until I actually play the game I will continue to have faith in the fact that Bioware makes awesome games, until that is disprove I won't complain about something if it is for story sake.

I think it's quite presumptuous to say you're a secret dev who was responsible for EA acquiring BioWare.

Well  put.

Sadly no matter how good or bad it may turn out I fell like something great has been left out for the sake of getting a sequel out fast.
