I know Its too early to specualte, but I will anyways!

Dragon Age: Origins was a great game, part of the reason why it was great was because it was developed as a PC RPG rather than a console RPG (which is a synonym to action RPG).

I have read the press release and the features, I like them all except one:

"Think like a general and fight like a Spartan with dynamic new combat
mechanics that put you right in the heart of battle whether you are a
mage, rogue, or warrior."

I'll be very blunt, should we except Mass Effect with swords (that got ported from xBox 360) with Dragon Age 2? OR, should we expect more or less the same treatment us PC gamers recieved with the first? Will PC get mod tools and such?

For the record, I have nothing against Mass Effect with swords, as long as it doesn't over simplify things.

Discuss!

EDIT: I'm not asking if its goint to be exclusive! I'm asking if its going to be developed as a console game, unlike first Dragon Age.

That wouldn't be very fair if DA2 was pc only When the DA:O was cross platform

It is already a fact that DA2 is cross platform they've already released the box art for it. I'm only questioning if its going to be a console port with over simplified controls rather than a true sequel.

It's NOT PC exclusive...the DA2 website clearly shows the PS3 and 360 versions deal with it.

I think it would be fair if DA2 was developed primarily on consoles and then ported to the PC given that DAO was developed on the PC first. Yep that would be just about fair and square.

How in the world would that be fair? So they should make a crappy game for PC because the original game was PC based and then ported to console? Are you slow?:blink:

Dragon age 2 it's not a true sequel compared by the first game.. It's more for casual player even in they are developed both version at the same time. Its much more console friendly they never admit that but yes..

Is cleary a console port

What's the best way to answer this, hmmmm - yes, Dragon Age 2 is a CRPG at heart.

The game is being dual developed for both PC and console, however, to tailor the controls to the strengths and limitations of those systems. While Origins was clearly a PC port to console and the controls didn't function so hot, BioWare has made the effort to have the console version made so that it plays well on console.

The game is still the same, it will just handle differently. If you check out the big "What Do We Know" thread at the top of the forum, that may help answer some questions about the differences between PC and console.

But perhaps the best way to answer your question is that Dragon Age 2 will function a lot like Dragon Age: Origins. However, it should differently between the two platforms, with the goal of better, tailored control for console players. But no, it's not Dragon Effect.

They've said dozens of times all versions are being developed simultaneously.

In facte this version of game is streamlized in contents and point only on cinematic and a voice characters also the classes are more distinct but also more static... And the game animation are better only on dialogues but the combat anims are similiar to dinasty warrior..

They also changed the dialogues with the dialog wheel and schematic pharaprase system ala mass effect with addiction of icons to show you in what tone the answer is.

Bioware has made it clear that both versions are being developed in tandem. This is not a console port, so can it, whiners.
