The DLC is going to be sold, theres no doubt about that. But the modifications to the game will most likely be free, since it changes gameplay. The adepts buff isn't the only thing Christina Norman teased a while ago. Squad power re-specialization, and a few other things.

Im down for squad respec, What other things has she teased?

^ Yeah I know singularity is useful for keeping armored enemies back, but as a biotic I want to toss stuff around, not cause them to stagger constantly.

Are you an idiot? The thread was posted in only 17 days ago before I bumped it, and I bumped it because there was updated information on the subject. I even put the date of the update in the f*cking title. Congratulations at failing to observe the obvious.

Theres another 2 threads talking about this. You did actually resurrect a dead thread. So you can't blame him for saying that.

-Polite

Two weeks does not make a thread dead. And I could have made another thread, but I simply decided to update this one instead. And I did not see any other threads about the same subject before I updated this one.

I'm oblivious and hadn't heard about this so thanks for the "necro". It will be interesting to see what they have planned for adepts. As a primary adept player who only plays insanity, the class being useless on insanity is news to me though...

Very curious. Will we see a full return of biotics now?

If biotics worked on all enemies, what would be the difference between Casual and Insanity?(improved AI is out of the question)

The resistence against it.Right, resistence(like in the first game),not a 100 percent immunity. Less duration, penalties for the player(lost of the steady barrier/increased cooldown time if biotics are used on "protected enemies),enemies didnt get damaged when
ragdolled.
Or combinations of that.
That so called "protection system" is the easiest and cheapiest try to "balance" biotics.

An utter joke, when even posters who arent gamedesigners could give examples for better solutions.

I like the IDEA of the protection system. But I'd like there to be an actual point in having 5 or so physics based powers that all behave as finishing moves and spamming a single attack. What I think is that Push, Lift and some of the less dramatic powers should have more physics impact on enemies with defences (to the point of a basic Mass Effect 1 level attack on non heavy enemies).

Adepts were fun in Mass Effect 1 because you used so many different powers all on different timers. With universal cooldown and defences it basically is down to Singularity and Warp. I love the idea of certain powers being better at piercing defences and having an effect as this brings a reason to diversify a bit more.

Exploding Warps are fun but it's not the only build I think that should work.

From the Liara comics, you can see that Liara seems to know some kind of biotic Kung Fu.

Biotic Kick? Liara or Shepard with the bonus power, can kick in the air with biotics and everything a wave of energy or something, similiar to Shockwave but maybe with a big difference, different effect maybe?

Oh and maybe Liara can have all the biotic powers she had in ME1? Come on, she was Ultra-Powerful in ME1, I don't want her being the same as Samara or Jack when in ME1 she had every biotic power in ME1.

I hope it isn't another bonus power, I feel that we have enough at this point. I'd prefer some kind of passive buff like others have described.

If they're gonna bosst tnhe biotics, they best not forget about us Engineers...If it's true that they'll change Biotic Powers to work through defenses, then I want the same thing for Tech Powers.

Except Most Tech Powers were designed to work defenses over.

Singularity and Warp is not the only good Adept combo. When you get their defenses down, pull + heavy throw insta-kills most enemies if they fly in the air or towards a wall. Fun as hell.

Only people who can't be bothered to learn to play by Insanity's rules actually say that. Look at the Vanguard, it used to be considered the least potent class in the game, and players like kronner and sinosleep proved how ridiculous those claims were with their awesome videos.

As for possible Adept buffs, I'm excited to hear about any kind of gameplay change. I wonder if there will be something for other classes. Obviously, my Soldier and Vanguard need no buffs, but more guns, armor, and abilities to explore the usefulness of are always welcome.

Well adept Shepard somehow lost powers from ME1 to ME2, so I'm sure Liara will also. And they're not going to make her overpowered like she was in ME1. Biotics in ME1 were extremely overpowered.

Overpowered, maybe, but at least they were actually interesting and fun. Biotics in ME2 are about as dull as a rusty spoon - and not the sharp kind of spoon, either.

Speak for yourself. I have all kinds of fun with biotics in this game. Whether it's Charge on my Vanguard or living vicariously through Miranda/Jack/Samara on my Soldier, biotics are still awesome and useful without being completely overpowered. Though, admittedly, Wrex's maxed out Throw with a Savant amp in the original game is proving amusing alongside my Soldier Shep's High Explosive Round shotgun.

I think they need to make it so biotics abilities are only reduced when shields/armor are up, for example a rank 4 area pull only works for 3 seconds instead of 6 (if its 6 I may be wrong). When I played my adept on insanity I usely found it easier to just keep shooting to finish them off rather then use something (besides warp).

The problem with biotics as it is, is that by the time you can actually make use of them is when the enemy is as good as dead anyway.

On the higher difficulties everything has defenses, which renders virtually every biotic power except warp useless (singularity can help situationally, but defensed enemies cause it to end fast). Singularity is amazing for husks and the like, until their base health becomes armour on higher difficulties.

Biotics need to actually have their effects apply to armoured enemies in general, not unlike how a singularity will somewhat slow down enemies as is. A shorter duration / lessened effect is a given though

It will probably be a Biotic power for shield stripping.

mostlikely, but considering its just a patch it will just make biotics do more damage to shield/armor in general so you don't have to soley rely on your weapon
