I was browsing the Elder Scrolls official forum a couple weeks ago and stumbled into a topic about a tweet made by an editor of GI. In the tweet he said that "Fantasy Fans will crap themselves" and basically said that the August cover would be a game that wasn't at E3 and was a sequel.
I figured it was too early for DA:2 since it's not even been out for eight months, Diablo 3 has been announced, the DnD series are on hold due to legal issues so I figured that my holy grail of game that I have been waiting for has finally shown it's face. The Elder Scrolls V.
Knowing that GI covers are generally announced from the 4th of the month until the 11th, I browsed the internet waiting for any news. So yesterday another tweet basically crushed my hopes in one swoop "Tomorrow will be a big day for Bioware fans".
Now to the point of the post. Doesn't anyone else think that it's a bit early for a DA:2? Didn't Origins have a five year development? And they said that they planned to continue to release DLC for DA:O for quite awhile yet. I'd figure that DA:2 would at least have a two and a half to a three and a half year development time instead it looks like it'll be under two years. To me it seems like they might drop DA:O planned DLC and just release a different game instead.
The GI cover come as a surprise to anyone else?

In that 5 year cycle they made revision to the enginge several times and developed a brand new enginge. This time they already have an engine and have probably worked on DA2 since the beginning of '09.

That makes sense.
I suppose I'm being critical because I've been waiting for TESV for so long and I figured the GI cover would finally announce it.
