Will we have love interests/romaces/flings in DA2 like DAO? If so, are these going to span various options and personalities? That was one thing DAO did pretty well I think.

It will probably be screwed up like Mass Effects, where all you are doing is trying to be nice to someone and next thing you know there are arguments from everyone. A situation that would easily have been avoided with more dialog options.

There doesn't seem to be any various options or personalities to even worry about.

Good Hawke or Bad Hawke (I'm the guy with the broadsword! UGH, couldn't resist, sorry!), and that's that.

I hope to god they keep the core game the same. The love interests and affection level should be kept. We already know they have taken away our option to make our own main character. So leave us the gameplay we liked at least...

I certainly hope so. I wonder how the whole "an all-new adventure that takes place across an entire decade" will affect friendships and romances, though.

They haven't taken away the option to make our own character. They've just taken away race options for this game. Possibly because they plan on canonizing the Dark Ritual ending. But the main character still can be male or female, and I'm hoping still customizable in appearance (I'd be surprised if this weren't the case).

Now, to get on topic: I for one hope we see the same variety of romance options in DA2 as were in Origins. You had three per gender, including one same-sex option. That's what was dropped in ME2, and I hope it's NOT dropped in DA2. I liked having that variety, as it added to characterization options and replay value. That would be the one thing BioWare could do that would really turn me off from the game, as it'd be such a step backward.

They already said that NPC interaction was too costly and they were looking to change it, so scratch that as well.

So:

*Forced PC
*New Dialogue System
*New Combat System
*New Timeline

Lovely...... Sounds like downtime for the PC is going to be minimal at best.
