 okay. ME2 was kinda "dumbed down".

BW,  do we expect a dumbed down DA2? I'm scared that this will be a BG:DA lol.

God I hope not but considering how many people came to the forums and couldn't get past certain points in the game on easy difficulty it makes me worry.



I could totally go for a less cluttered spell system and some more passive bonuses in talent trees but I would hate to see the game become oversimplified mechanically.

I think we are all overreacting now. All we know is you will play as a human. While this is a bumber to alot of people it dose not mean they are changing EVERYTHING about the game. Only time will tell.

This is by far my biggest concern. No doubt they are trying to mainstream the franchise just like they did with Mass Effect. I fear the worst until they can convince me otherwise.

I think they basicly listened to what most people thought the first one lacked. DA:O was criticized for bad graphics and no VO for the main charachter. SO they make sure to include full VO by limiting our choises a bit(Thats fine with me) and they have already talked about how awsome DA2 looks, so that looks covered as well. I wouldnt worry much about the rest of the game being dumbed down.

Good? It was great!

But yeah its way way WAY too early to tell anything about the game.

We're just gonna have to wait till the Game Informer issue comes out to get any real details.

It's ridiculous to assume that they have or haven't dumbed it down until given more information. I am always afraid that games will be dumbed down or not how I would prefer them to be, but to not only worry that but also suggest they will or already have is just plain silly. It's like accusing someone of treason just because their last name is Arnold.

It's ridiculous to assume that they have or haven't dumbed it down until given more information. well Bioware has a good track record of dumbing things down.



Kotor - dumbed down NWN system.

DAO - dumbed down BG

ME2 - dumbed down ME

ME2 was dumbed down because rather than fixing the broken elements in ME1 (Clunky inventory, Mako, boring character development) they just removed them.



DA2 will not be dumbed down because there was very little complaints about DA:O's mechanics.. (Aside from the stat system rewarding stacking a single trait far, far too much)

Mass Effect 2 was better than Mass Effect 1 in every way, shape, and form.

Mass Effect 1 & 2 were both pretty gnarly in my opinion. To say ME2 was dumbed down, while true, didn't ruin the entire game for me. But as more and more people flock to the console boom per se, it'll keep getting awash with dumbed down games. Hopefully DA will stay true to it's roots and have a nice full UI and upgrade system, and not three clicks and your levelled up.
Too early to tell though. And honestly BioWare, only two concept images? Seriously harshed my mellow.
