Mass Effect 2 was better than Mass Effect 1 in every way, shape, and form.

Except the story, rpg elements, squadmate dialogues, and the actual shooting, ya.

It did have a better cover system though :pinched:

I head a rumor that Xbox is the lead developing platform.

The PC sku was the top selling of the original Dragon Age. I highly doubt they'd change the lead dev platform.

well Bioware has a good track record of dumbing things down.

Kotor - dumbed down NWN system.
DAO - dumbed down BG
ME2 - dumbed down ME

um... something can't be dumbed down unless it is based upon something that is dumbed down. You can't say something is a dumbed down version of something unless it is based upon. With the exception of ME in your exampel, saying that DAO is a dumbed down BG or that Kotor is a dumbed down NWN is like saying that a horse is a dumbed down car.

God of Force Unleashed was the best sellin' Star Wars game ever, I bet this will feature a similar combat system.

With Mass Effect 3 out I think I'm gonna stick with the old RPG games I think. The Witcher 2 is the Last Hope.

Or someone who's been around long enough to know what happens in sequals to semi successful games.

Honestly, I see no reason for me to leave DA:O for a new game. Besides, I've got Fable III if I want to change the world and gain power.

You're really out of your mind if you think Mass Effect 1 had a better shooting system.

They already crushed the choice of

1) Race.

2) Origin.

3) Silent Protagonist.

You are Hawke. A human [insert class and sex here] who will be fully voiced.

It's no longer DA1 or anything like it. I don't mind but many will.

Food for thought.

People like to stalk room to room never letting go of the 'kill' button and having unlimited ammo. And they say it's more RPG-ish.

i'm glad Bioware doesn't listen to them.

That one probably comes down to opinion. I prefered ME1's shooting to 2 because 2 was way too easy. I blew through insanity on my third playthrough of the game only dying maybe a total of 4 or 5 times the entire time. I'm talking PC here btw.

okay. ME2 was kinda "dumbed down".

BW,  do we expect a dumbed down DA2? I'm scared that this will be a BG:DA lol.

No, but I expect more dumbed down posters talking about how they were "true fans" of [insert last RPG here].

The RPG everyone is nostalgic about hasn't existed ever since they introduced full voice acting, realistic graphics and lip-sync, cinematic cutscenes, and polished characters/companions (in both personality and looks).

Because people expect those things out of any good game these days - unless you're Nintendo - the writers will always be limited to how much all those listed above will cost (and how much time it will take).

ME2 has more dialog, and each character had 4 and over conversatinos plus there personal mission. There was alot of dialog.

DA: O was allready so easy and simple in the ways of skills and talents that calling it a spirituall successor to Baldurs gate is pretty much an insult. As advanced skills, spells, talents of the D&D rules were imperative part of the enjoyment of the game.

Please Bioware dont fall victim to EA bullying or crying console kidz! :(

Note that i LOVED dragon age in all ways, so dont mistake my comment for whine but it really was to easy and simple. DA: O have a solid building block in place for more advanced combat systems and rules to add challenge, difficulty and roleplaying.

I'm not too worried. Mostly because in the build-up to Dragon Age there were a lot of complaints and worries, but I found that the Bioware team created a game that appealed to me in style and aesthetics. So I trust their development decisions. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on DA2 until we know more.

Oh man I can't say the executive summary/press release really inspires confidence that this will be a sequel true to its roots.

Will wait for the trailer. That will determine if they have decided to shift emphasis towards the Xbox-Fable crowd.

you had a fixed second name in the first one. also i dont think anyone has confirmed the voiced main character yet. although it seems likely.  it will take away from the d age experience. taking the PC from "my" character to "their" character is really a nono

Call me an optimistic dreamer, but I'm still holding out hope.   This was my initial reaction when I read it too however.

Okay, Race has been said, and considering the other changes and the latest DA:O DLC you're probably no longer a mute, but no Origin?

You don't think that a Hawke who was a Rogue in wherever (s)he came from wouldn't have a different upbringing from a Mage, or a Warrior?

Probably the biggest lie I've ever seen. Especially in story. Mass Effect 1's story was infinitely times better, as were the choices you made, and the final confrontation.
