Firearms is what we need. Bows are arrows are alright, but I wouldn't mind if people in Theda actually devote some time for technology improvement. I would love to have a musket.

Ohhh hell no. Firearms...are you serious? I fantasy games like DA because there are no guns. All you have is your steel and your skill. Leave the the guns in Mass Effect.

Actually Stens people have gunpowder, they've only progressed as far as cannons to my knowledge though.

Jade empire had a musket it was the best fighting style in game. Having gunpowder for your PC or one of the party member won't undermine the fantasy setting, it doesn't even have to be called black powder, it can be called lyrium powder for all I care. This would at least give the game a feeling of middle age setting.

Spears, short swords, those staffs that have spikes coming out of them.

Also I want to be able to clash swords like in real life.

I wouldn't mind a recruitable Qunari with some sort of firearm, but I generaly enjoy steampunk fantasy to begin with.  I havn't seen any lore that says just how effective they are in combat though, the first black powder weapons in our world were completely useless for anything other than the intimidation/demoralizing factor.

I want a sword shaped like a dog.

Or better yet, just let me fight with a dog. Bronze it first or something, I don't care.

In all seriousness, I want bowstrings. On bows. Please Bioware? Oh and swords that aren't sheathed on PC's back. Swords at his side would look much classier.

Black powder firearms were pitiful until the late 1800's when rifled barrels became more widely used. That's why they massed troops and fired in volleys...so at least something would hit someone.

I'd like to see more interaction in combat, animations that match the action more closely.

Right now there is no dodging and very little deflecting and footwork. You can't tell by the animations who is winning, or even if you hit or miss. You have to rely on the text pop ups and the health bar. I'd like to be able to see that my character just stabbed someone because, well, I just saw him do it. Or that he deflected an incoming blow with his sword because, well, I just saw him do it. :) I want to see his avatar's arms sag as his stamina goes down, see his armor torn and cuts on his arms because his health is low, etc.

I'm with this. And that the animations might reflect the level of skill of the participants.

My own request is concurrent with the OP. I would have liked a single weapon, no shield fighting style as well as more weapon types minus guns.

Fair enough, then don't make any firearm a long range weapon, make it have really short range, like a shotgun, but comes with a big bang that stuns near by opponent.
