I don't care that Hawke is human! I still want a Dwarf love interest!

If we could play as a dwarf sure, but I would find it unreasonable to think my PC would be attracted to a dwarf of either gender, to huge differences in physiology.. And I'm quite sure most dwarves think the same with humans / elves.. To huge a need to water down dwarves, I like to think of dwarves as Tolkien portrayed them, maybe I'm old fashioned but please don't change to much about them.
The Dwarf LI is optional just so you know. Anyway, how do we not know if there are other cross species relationships out there? Like a dwarf with a elf, or elf with human, ect. Thedas is a BIG place, there are bound to be mixes here and there for the sake of love!

How about M! Hawke and Lady Hawke self-cest then?It would be epic
Fanart, Fanfics, Nuffsaid. Just wait until we get actual video of Lady Hawke...Just you wait. And i was talking more along the lines of "polishing the sword" sorta deal, which i think would be a interesting idea to put into any RPG, who says he has to romance someone? Why not just lean back and relax once a while with a, as ogrehn put it, a cloth and fat to polish the ole sword.
Oh the selfcest fanarts have already started. Check the Hawke fanclub thread.

Exception, not the rule. I don't claim dwarves can't be attractive. I am saying they don't have the same appeal as a human/elf, or even qunari. So bioware's development efforts would be better spent elsewhere.Dave of Canada wrote...
Actually, yes it does. You're saying a character that doesn't have human proportions won't be pleasing to the public, yet Garrus is one of the most popular romance interests in Mass Effect 2 and he's everything but human.Exactly!TriviaAeducan wrote...

And dwarves are stubborn traditionalists, I highly doubt it.. When I'm playing through with my Hawke and I suddenly get hit on by a dwarf it would screw over my immersion(and the dwarf would be booted from party on first oppertunity and never recruited again on subsequent playthroughs), enough already that FemDwarves are something that is in widespread use - Why I didn't like Warhammer Online among a few reasons.

Although it is worth making clear that David only likes the idea of a Dwarf romance if it is with another Dwarf. He most definitely did not write one for DA2 judging by his comments in the original Varric thread, there is hope however as Mary (who writes Varric) seemed less weirded out by the idea (at least, she didn't back DG up on his points. >.>)

Alistair / Morrigan / Leliana don't seem to weirded out that you're a dwarf.

The typical citizen of Orzammar are indeed stubborn traditionalists. The outcaste, not so much. They had to evolve their worldview in order to survive. And who knows what the other surviving city (I forget he name at the moment) have had to do tyo survive. It's been siad by devs that they've gone in a different direction than the dwarves of Orzammar...but nothing has been said in detail.
And of course, if Bhelen became king, he may have forced the city to be a bit more progressive. It's pretty much stated in the epilogues.
I undertand you wanting the dwarves to stay more or less as they are portrayed by Tolkien. But, frankly, this isn't Middle Earth. I'd like them (Bioware) to suprise me, not rehash old territory.

THIS! From the people I've talked to in-person, at least, theres always surprise when I tell them how broken the stereotypes of Dwarves and Elves are. Especially dwarves. As Kaidan Alenko put it in Mass Effect 1 when talking about Turians, "They're saints and jerks, just like us."
Bioware moved dwarves from the stereotype of axe-wielding, bearded, ale-drinking warriors, to having all sorts of personalities. Heck a good section of "A Paragon of Her Kind" is in Dust Town, where dwarven traditions are abandoned and you meet a lot of rogues.
Back to the main topic: One cannot deny that there certainly IS a growing demand for female/male dwarves as LIs in Dragon Age titles, and for very good reasons. Aimo's artwork mentioned earlier, as well as the love and appreciation for characters such as Jarvia, Sigrun, and even Dagna (who has more of a cute personality than a sexy one imo), not to mention the comments on extremely beautiful Dwarf Wardens I've seen on here have, have all proven such. I, for one, want dwarf romances, and while I really want a female dwarf LI, I'll settle for progression if Varric is a LI for female Hawke. Anyway, hugs and celebratory ales to all who support Dwarf romance
Honestly, I don't get the hate for Dwarves' physical features... As someone once said in another thread (forgot who, my apologies), Dwarves are up to human shoulder height, which isn't that short at all, when you notice that in the real world, there are relationships where a woman is about half the height of the man, and they still make those relationships work. Its all a matter of love. Personally, and this may be due to the fact that I'm only 5'7"-5'8", I am more naturally attracted to shorter women anyway. Plus the fact that dwarves aren't skinny as hell like elves are is another added bonus. Remember, curves are natural and healthy on a woman
I imagine that those who are against having the option of Dwarf LIs are either: 1. Short themselves and won't admit their Napoleon Complex, 2. Absolutely skewed in their view of what makes a woman beautiful (unless they're attracted to Qunari women and human women who aren't skin-and-bones, in which case this reason is void), 3. Have a misconception of Dwarves being midgets, which they certainly AREN'T, or 4. Trolling for the hell of it.
Probably other reasons to that I can't think of. Either way, options can always be ignored in a game, but they should never be excluded from the game...
Anyway, Yay for Dwarf love

I don't see how this is relevent and all dwarves are is essentially short humans.to huge differences in physiology..
Besides if FemShep and Garrus can get it on I'm sure a human and a dwarf can.

That's kind of funny. I always pick the taller races, probably because I'm 5'5". When I was in high school I wanted to be a 6' woman. But I notice a lot of tall people like to play dwarves. Grass is greener and all that I suppose.
