Actually, I'd be willing to put money on her being Flemeth.
Think about it, Flemeth is a major power introduced in DAO that really gets very little screen time, whose plans we don't really learn much ago, and even if we defeat her we KNOW she's not dead.
Furthermore, we know she's an abobination that can turn into a dragon. That matches that image pretty durn well.
Of course, the specifics are unknown. Maybe Flemeth actually managed to take over Morrigan after all and turned her into an abobination, maybe it's Flemeth in another form.
There's just too much invested in her in DAO that goes completely unresolved. My money's on Flemeth.
Itkovian

That's a really good theory, also unfortunate that she's back for those of us who killed Flemeth, but only time shall tell guessing will get more hints once the trailer is out next month.

Actually, you never killed flemeth. IT was always stated in the game that you didn't destroy her, only her current body. Morrigan then hoped that she would have time to prepare to resist Flemeth before she returned and tried to take over her body.

So, regardless, Flemeth is still alive in DA2.

Itkovian

Yes,I'm aware of that.Let me reword it,all I meant to say was it would be unfortunate if Flemeth ended up taking control of Morrigans body, even after you defeated her.

I gave up Morigan to Flemeth and never fought the dragon on my one character so, I would not be surprised if she found the pregenant Morgian and in possessed the godchild of Morigan I mean it would be a far more powerful being to control.

It's either Morrigan or Flemeth. Or Wynne fallen to the dark side. Actually that last one sounds pretty awesome. I hope its that.

On a sidenote, look at this - the cover art for DA2. The horns on the head of the female look exactly like the horns on the head of the dragon, which, I guess, is an archdemon. Also, the position of her hands resembles the wings of the dragon and the fur around her neck(the one on her armor) bears a slight resemblance to the spikes on the dragon.
So I say that this is Morrigan's daughter or Morrigan herself, because of the ritual. However, the dragon does not look like the previous archdemon and does not look blighted at all. So I say that Morrigan's daughter(or Morrigan herself, if she has body-jumped - but she said in Origins that she has no intention of doing that with the child) can transform at will to be an Old God.
And, in the tradition of BioWare games, I say that this is not the Big Bad of the game and is most possibly a joinable squadmate.

That would be a cool twist if Morrigan's godbaby was one of your PC's companions. I can't wait to find out who this character is.

I totally know who it is.

It's Xena. With white hair and dragon powers. Period.

Kinda seriously though, she does not look exactly evil... Just powerful and almost godly. It has been said a hundred times over, but it might be the godchild, and her "unevil" apperance is because of the old god i s untainted, seeing as Morrigan goes on about "seeking the essence of an old god and not the forces that tainted it"

Really hope this game will be as epic as DA:O ^^

Hmmm...The "SHOCKED I TELL YOU" thing sounds like sarcasm, so since everyone's pretty much already going for Morrigan or Flemeth, I'm gonna say that's Morrigan. (Hell, I'm gonna *hope* that's Morrigan) But I'm open to being proven completely wrong.

If it's Wynne, well, that's just going to increase my Wynne!fangirling. I really do like old ladies with a twist.

I'm going with godbaby, mostly being Morrigan has already been a companion and a romance option. But Flemeth or Andraste reborn would not be unwelcome

I HIGHLY doubt its Wynne, since the character looks all dragonic and DARK&EDGY where as the fade spirit possessing Wynne was the embodiment of "Faith" and other happy, fluffy feelings

At this point Morrigan's daughter seems to be the the best guess, since her child was has a spirit of an old god who was a dragon, and than it must have some dragonic magic or even resemble them in the looks somehow, have horns or something...

One reason why this cant be Morrigan is because of hair color, she had black hair, but this chick is blond.

The mysterious disappeared Ferelden queen? If that is the fate of the people who choose to let their Cousland to become Queen and disappears at the end of Awakening I would seriously lAIGH
I have a lot of ideals on who it could or what she is.
1.Flemmeth
2.Morrigan's daughter
3.The true form of an Old God
4.A tenvianter mage who walked into the Black City

Someone said Andraste but I highly doubt it if Andraste was a character based of Joan of Arc I think they would have Andraste's carnation a bit more heroic Leliana

Since Urthemiel was a male deity, I always assumed Morrigan's child -- assuming we're talking about the Ritual!Baby, as opposed to just the normal one a Warden can knock her up with -- would be male as well....

Such a tease. So maybe it's not Morrigan or Morrigan's child.

Abominable Wynne maybe?

Yeah, I'm thinking Wynne got over the whole "growing old" thing.... gotta love a personal spirit.

To me, the woman shares maaaaaany features with Morrigan. The eyes are the most noticeable but also the hard lines and sharp features of her face. Also, did anyone notice the purple color of her lips or the purplish shadows around her eyes? The eyes and make-up are the things I really remember most about Morrigan and those are the things that seem to sync up most with the woman in the concept work. The hair? Well a lot of things can change hair color. White hair usually suggests wisdom or, in some cases, god-like power.

Also, a good friend is totally fangirling over the idea of Morrigan being in DA2 and the woman we see here really isn't helping her. If Morrigan is in DA2 then nothing should go wrong... but if she isn't... well...

catatonia, it will be disturbing...
