Not allowing us back inside Warden's Keep after finishing is monumentally stupid.

No, that's not a spoiler...it's a freaking warning to people.  Finish everything in Wardens Keep before leaving, you will not be allowed back inside.  The storage and vendors are outside in the snow instead of in the nice warm keep.

Seriously, can some dev give us any reason at all that insane design decision was made?  I mean an intern could have redecorated the inside for the "post quest" version.

People whining about every goddamn thing is monumentally stupid. Go outside and get some fresh air and try to comprehend how much value you're getting for your $50-60, then if you still feel like you've been ripped off - find a new hobby.

I recommend playing chicken with big rigs on the interstate, while strapped to a bike with 2 flat tires.

Congrats on posting the biggest drooling fanboy reply I've seen on these boards to date.

Are you going to try to pretend that touting a DLC as a new base of operations and then not even allowing you inside of it even makes the slightest bit of sense?

It's seriously deceptive advertisement.  Yeah, they give you what they promise, but definately not what they implied.

They're only obligated to give you what they promise. Implications are often in the mind of the buyer. Caveat Emptor applies.

Btw, painting Mount Rushmore fuschia would be 'monumentally stupid'. Them not letting you back into the keep? Merely annoying.

Agreed. Wardens Keep is blatant FALSE Advertising. Im so glad I didnt have to buy it (it came with the DDE). For all the advertisements for the DLC claiming it becomes a 'new base of operations' and in game characters talking about reclaiming it for yourself, and refurbishing it.. Its just plain Lies. None of that happens. Epic Fail of a DLC.

Rellucs is a board troll, everyone keep that in mind when reading his future posts.

How is it even a base of operations? You would think party camp would shift there or something. But like I said, I don't think it's completely false advertisement, but it is VERY deceptive advertisement. Yes, you get new vendors....you get a couple new skills (i have yet to use), you get a couple of achievements, the only false part is you really can't use it as a base as you have to make a special trip there each time you go.

That's pretty pathetic. I'd like to be able to decorate my own place.

While it would have been nice to go in the keep (perhaps even moving over the party camp to the courtyard I can understand why they did it.

Regardless you still get 2 new skills per class, a very useful merchant, a couple achievements, some really cool loot and a couple hours of plot content with multiple outcomes. I'd say it's worth the money. I always disliked the idea of "houses" in RPG's anyway ever since Oblivion pulled that crap.

The loot is TOO cool, though. It's cheap, not earned. Like you basically paid to upgrade your character. Uck.

Look on the bright side, it'll give the modders something to have a crack at :)

I dont get why they didnt. The Keep would have been MUCH better if it replaced the Camp. Just put everyone in a different room, and the vendors and the storage chest in the great hall which would have been easy and made the DLC worth alot more to people.

You are the reason the human race is becoming mutton-headed.....

On the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much - the wheel, New York, wars, and so on - while all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man - for precisely the same reasons.

It's intended to be DLC, so the size has to be tractable. They would have to create and distribute two copies (the original and the cleaned up one) of the keep.  I wish it warned me before I left that I wouldn't be able to return.  I didn't finish the history quest and now I can't.

I was really disappointed as well when I noticed that I couldn't get inside again. I still don't understand why.

By the way: Is there any way to talk to this mage again?

Ah man, are you serious? Dang, I wanted to have the keep as my home.

Guess I'll have to settle for tents :(

That would make no sense. Unless it is a magical Keep that follows you around from town to town.

I have to admit I was bummed out I couldnt get inside the keep as well after finishing the fantastic story line for it. Hey maybe they will add to it in the future where you can get back inside with npcs roaming around inside and more merchants lurking about selling special items :)

I was really hoping it would be like the keep in Neverwinter Nights 2. I thought I read something that implied you could attracted various vendors, etc, to come to your keep and build it up. Just being storage and a couple vendors kinda sucks, but I'm still glad I got it.

I wonder if there's any chance that some of the builders int he community could make a module with a redesigned keep interior? I think that would be awesome.

While I find the armour slick as goose **** I too feel incredibly mislead about "Owning" my base of operations. I figured with all the talk about this being like BG it would be something like D'arnise Keep where we could walk around talk to a few people (ie like the bastards who are now stuck out in the cold) and maybe have a few quests or such to go along with it. Hell even just being allowed inside again would be a boon. Instead we own it in name only and none of the party npcs even remember we have it after leaving,

All we get are a few items (as cool as they are) a relatively small quest that takes 1 possibly two hours, a couple of extra codex and some interesting conversations thats about it.

In truth Wardens Keep isn't really worth the 7 dollar price tag, wont be so quick to pick the next DLC thats for sure. Sorry Bioware, otherwise an awesome game all around.

I agree it wasn't worth $7. With the armour you receive (that's better than most armour you can get at that point in the game), and the two free abilities, it feels suspiciously like paying for in-game weapons.

You can (spoilers)

get Avernus (is that his name?) to keep working on ways to help the Wardens, so it sounds to me like they plan some future expansion on the Keep. It really doesn't make any sense to me why they would set everybody outside in the snow, though, when they'd already gone to all the trouble of making the inside of the Keep. All they'd have to change would be the lighting and a few textures, but...we'll see.
