"A new base complete with merchants and party chest to store your hard earned loot"

Not an outright lie, but seems deceptive. Especially if you played NWN2 and were expecting that level of content (The Keep).

I remain disappointed, and hopeful it will be fixed in a patch.

Yea, I expected a) dungeon AT least like Watcher's Keep, and B) managing it like D'Arnise or NWN2's one...

Hell, both DLC levels seem like they take about 20 min to beat.

Do the math; it took me 60+hrs to beat DAO the first run-through... costs around $50.

The DLC both cost what, $7? And take maybe half an hour?

Then the base game of DAO should cost around $840.

The DLC are too short, OR they're overpriced.

It's intended to be DLC, so the size has to be tractable. They would have to create and distribute two copies (the original and the cleaned up one) of the keep.  I wish it warned me before I left that I wouldn't be able to return.  I didn't finish the history quest and now I can't.

Has nothing to do with size of the DLC. Has everything to do with spending zots on it. Why spend designer resources on making a cleaned up keep when after you purge the demons you can just lock the PCs out and put the storage chest in the snow? Its a cheap, but a designer time effective way, to give a player a 'base of operations'. Even if they just made a cleaned up version of the first floor or main hall and locked you out of the rest would have been tolerable. Perhaps as other folks suggested they will add on to it at a later date. But either way as of now it does seem like a cheap way to address the place.

Yeah, pretty cheap, but the cutting off of questlines is what bothers me the most.

I have to admit Warden's Keep is a little on the weak side. The DLC is worth it for the most part, a nice quest with some cool back story and a set of armor that looks so cool my warrior has used it the entire game.

However not getting back in is kinda lame. It would be better if you see a few other people show up at least but even more so... they really should have put more time into it and made it more like a Crossroad Keep ( from NWN2) type experience. The end result gives us very little reason to go back, I didn't even find myself using the storage.

I agree. Thinking I owned the place and would come back to it redecorated or something, I left it, and now I can't finish the quest line :( Some sort of warning would have been nice.

Still, I think it was worth it.

It annoyed me that I couldn't go back in to loot some chests, but you know what? I loaded my save game and finished it all in one shot the second time around. Life went on.

I've spent more than $7 on a plate of chicken wings.

Huh. Sounds kinda lame. I haven't purchased Warden's Keep and I don't think I will now. I guess I'll spend my $7 on tofu and broccoli instead.

I suspect this was because the game was basically already complete several months ago. During that time Bioware, I think, decided to add in more content like the Warden's Keep, and the other DLC's and the game was already done with the CAMP as your parties headquarters. So when they brought in the Warden's keep it was more of an addition to the camp.

Here is how you use your camp and the keep together.

1) go to your keep

2) leave the keep and pick CAMP as your destination

3) your CAMP will be setup right beside the Keep

4) now you can take multiple parties to your keep and use the storage and vendors to upgrade them all.

5) this is also a good way for you to take out those party members you never seem to get around to including in your party and this way they are leveled to your level and not several levels behind you when you do decide to use them. I know you can then level them but I prefer to be ready for each fight and not have to worry if say Sten is leveled properly yet, as an example.

hope this helps! :)

i think Like Vansen Elamber, Game was done na dthey try to give somthing to start...truly bad done but yet we shouldnt complaint that much...it gives a History of Gray Wardens. its only 7$ so its not much... if it cost twice that i wouldnt buy it...

I hope only that in future BW will done a properr job with DLC not like this one.

The result of all add on is that you must log on to play the game, and that in my opinion muck up the game in small and big ways, different for each player.
For me it have brought me a lot of hassel to clear, I cant load a game.
And to get a word through to BioWare is a nightmare but for this forum beeing read by other players.

This is simply not true.  There are fixes and workaround posted if you are having this issue.  Nonetheless, you are *not* required to be logged in to use DLC or the game.  My wife's machine runs the game in offline mode 100% of the time.  (she doesn't want some website 'spying' on her, haha)

Hey, you just got all the bad guys cleared out ... it's not ready for you to move in yet.

All that damage is gonna take quite some time to repair ...

... time you do not have right now.

Yeah I really want to finish the "ancient history" quest but I cant get inisde anymore. I think we are alteast owed a warning before we leave the keep that we cannot reenter. Anywho..  I emailed bioware support about this from their help page.. lets see if I get a reply..

I finished the main part of Wardens Keep straight after Lothering, I hadn't done any other areas... thought it was a bit bugged as I couldn't get the last part of the 'history quest' and scoured the snowy bit looking for ages!. So, I carried on with the game.

I'm now 48 hours into the game (completed about half I think). And suddenly found out that the missing part is inside the Keep.... which I'm not allowed to enter anymore.... um ...

I actually don't even care if they've bothered to clean it up, I just want to finish the quest!

I think they should wait until you've finished all the quests before they set up the box and trader, then it wouldn't matter if you can't go back in. It is still a shame that they haven't bothered to do the cleanup, but that doesn't really matter, being allowed back inside a dirty keep would be preferable!

I'd prefer a keep that would house the collected companions as well as trophies from quests and upgrades etc...  I'm all about upgrading crap.  Gear, skills, specializations....housing!    Idea:  main quest progression = more people attracted to your keep.   Elves start hanging out and preparing for the big battle, then dwarves etc...   Maybe they change the keep a little bit to reflect their cultural influence so you get to see gratifying changes to your real estate?

QFT.

Why the hell would I want to go through two transitions and then run around to different rooms?

Is that seriously the OP's idea of fun?

I have to admit I was bummed out I couldnt get inside the keep as well after finishing the fantastic story line for it. Hey maybe they will add to it in the future where you can get back inside with npcs roaming around inside and more merchants lurking about selling special items :)

Agreed, perhaps with future development and dlc it will become a real command centre for grey wardens and their allies. We but hope Posted Image
