Dragon Age was really great on the PC with the isometric camera allowing a tactical advantage and the PC-centric HUD. Not to mention the mod support.  These features were also reflected on the great reception the PC version had.
I hope Dragon Age 2 will stay the same.

I agree. I am not saying they will but DO:A was made to be a PC game. Now that is has done so well on PS3 and Xbox they might build this game for console gameing and that will change it. Not ruin it but still.

They aren't making two different games.

What I'm curious about is whether or not the PC is still the lead platform?

Cause all of the buzzwords in the press releases and stuff on the DA2 site scream "console"

Alas, it seems like it won't.

We're basically getting Mass Effect: Dragon Age here.

Consoles have been ruining PC gaming for years, there is no evidence this tragedy will end just yet.

I hope it's not literally the same. Then what's the point of buying it? :P I kid. I hope various things in the game, such as optional isometric view, various camera angels, etc, are kept but some things can be changed for the better. And it's not so much that one platform is more important than one or the other. It's that a game studio just doesn't have the money to make a completely separate game for each platform. The price of that endeavour would be ridiculous.

Some from Bioware has said PC will be their lead development platform. I'm a little skeptical, but it is reassuring at the same time. I just hope they still keep all those defining features which made the game so great on PC and I hope they keep it a game that should be played on PC.

Anyone know which version sold the most?

In any case, wasn't Dragon Age: Origins identified as a "spiritual successor" to the Baldur's Gate franchise? While it is reasonable, and desireable, for Bioware to seek to expand their audience, I don't think they would totally abandon the style and link, especially if the new game uses the same engine.

That would be my thinking too. But from all thats been released thus far with DA2, it really seems like they're dumping everything from Origins and going in a totally new direction- visually, gameplay wise, everything.

If it was really like BG, they would have let us continue on the story of the Warden and the Origins companions. Instead it seems like we're destined for NWN stuff where each "sequel" is really just an entriely separate story only tentatively connected to the previous ones with canonized choices made by BioWare.

I don't know the precise numbers, but AFAIK PC version of Dragon Age has been quite successful, and sold almost as much as console versions, if not more.

If you streamline the game for simpletons, and omit the extras of DA1's PC version like the perspective, different interface, and general structure, or deliberately make modding harder/impossible to make people dependent on paid downloable content, to hell with you BioWare.

Yes, hopefully the controls on the PC will take advantage of the general superiority of mouse/keyboard to game controller and of course the better camera controls you can use on PC. That really helped the combat with regard to positioning and tactics. Also, the UI should remain expandable.

Actually, I got the impression from the beggining of Dragon Age that it was focused on the world building rather than the individual character's story, so I always expected it to be different from BG in that regard.  I meant similar to BG in other ways though, especially the overhead tactical combat with pausing.  I still think that what we have seen is too little to guess that they are getting rid of that.  Remember that marketing language is largely to generate hype, and tends to overstate "newness" rather than continuity.  That said, you may be right, but I hope that they will preserve the things that we fans have liked about prior Bioware games.

Any news or predictions about DRM?
