What is with Velanna? She is also a mage and looks similar to Morrigan. In Awakening she supports plans of the Architect and at the end the dissapears. Maybe it is the dark version of Velanna.

In Redcliffe whether you agree to do the Ritual or not, Morigan in the epilogue is still with child. Bethany's fashion sense does mirror Morigan which is another clue. Hawke and Bethany are the Luke and Leia of Dragon Age. I am assuming that the Warden is possibly dead if Hawke is indeed the son of the Warden because Flemeth said as much when she gave her grimoire to the Warden. Flemeth is to me the Kriea of Dragon Age it seems. If they are the children of the Warden they would also have the darkspawn taint as well as dragon essence because they have their father's blood in their viens...you could say they were born as Grey Warden's.

Or maybe, It's flemeth back? As we didn't "Kill" her now did we? Or perhaps it can be morrigans daughter but changed slightly due to her soul being corrupted by an old god.

If u aint done the flemeth quest (SEMI OLD SPOILER) its about u going to kill her after giving morrigan a grimoire of hers explaining how flemeth has lived so long, and morrigan wants her dead but she cannot go to kill her has flemeth may travel to morrigans body when she dies. In the end u kill her and then u take flemeths grimoire to morrigan and she says thanks n it will make her stronger.

Tbh the grimoire doesn't make her stronger, just makes ur relationship stronger :P

And also to add to this, a question. Will we be able to import our old characters to this new DA? or is it a new start?

No. Thats only if you romance her. If you romance anyone else, or don't ever sleep with Morrigan, she isn't pregnant at the end.

Hawke has been confirmed to not be the OGB, or to have anything to do with the Warden since he is in Lothering as we pass through apparently.

Hopefully in DA2 we will learn the fate of the Warden since when last we left him he was reforming the Grey Warden order. And whats up with Bioware saying we can port our character to Hawke. How are they going to explain how Hawke recieved the Grey Warden's gear? That itself implies that Hawke is Morrigan and the Warden's kid. The rise to power by any means is indeed a Morigan / Flemeth thing. Then what of Queen Anora or and King Alister? Another clue in the epilogue is that it said Morigan seen traveling through the Frostback Mountains alone. Several years later, tales out of Orlais said that a strange dark-haired mage had insinuated herself within the empress's court or it says she is heading west through the Frostback Mountains. To get to the Free Marches by land Morigan and the kids will have to go through Orlais and the Frostback Mountains. Morigan would not take a route from Feralden directly because the Warden would sense her with the ring.

hmmm.......if he is not Morigan and Warden's kid then who is he? Certainly making him the son of the Warden would make for a good storyline for Hawke.

Maybe it's Fiona?

But the mage in the picture had human ears.

i thought that too perhaps they dont want to age our warden up too much they could be planning on useing them again or keeping their options open perhaps that it?Image IPB plus dont forget hawk was probs a teen if not young adult when he fled lothering our warden wouldv have to be 20years older then when hawks story comes to an end 10yrs later our warden would die from the taint and our warden was elf dwarf as well as human so it would undermine DA2 itsself

My vote goes for it being Gray Warden / Morrigan offspring that is being possessed by Morrigan the way her mother used to possess her daughters.

The woman in the picture is Morrigan or at least it was intended to be Morrigan at the time it was drawn.....why.....because the face is identical....a bit aged but still 99.99% identical to that of Morrigan.

Some kids really do look like their parents, eh? I stand by my opinion. Anyway, DA concept arts for characters looked kinda cooler than the final products, so we can assume only so much.

BioWare devs already said that it wasnt Morrigan or the god child. So it has to be Flemeth.

10 years long game and starts 1 week after Ostagard. Plus the DR is not canon, so its importance in Flemeth´s scheme is uncertain.

I´m betting for actual Flemeth too.

That arm is freaky- its definitely not just a gauntlet, its like her arm is turning into a dragon claw. Shapeshifting?

No. A darkspawn who absorbed Archdemon's soul when Archdemon is slain not by a Grey Warden is transformed into a dragon (even if originally it was a genlock). Same thing here. Grey Warden's daughter is slowly transformed into a dragon. I suppose this time not tainted one, but original Old God.

Alright. DA2 starts at the EXACT SAME TIME as DAO. Hawke is a survivor from Lothering who escaped north to the Free Marches before his town was overrun. DA2 spans ten years, so there would be little foundation for Morrigan being old, and NO foundation for Hawke being the Old God Child. This was taken from a Game Informer interview with Mike Laidlaw, head designer of DA2, and crew.

anyways..based on what is released i do like that the new warden has a voice. i like that elements of mass effect will be in DA2 since I am a big fan of Mass Effect. I like that the graphics engine is being beefied up. The epilogue implies new stories yet to be told. It would be nice if they picked up these plot threads and explore them in DA2. In the released materiel, Bioware says that Hawke's story is of how the world changed forever. That would be interesting to see how they do that. If DA2 starts as DA1 ends it is really the Warden who changed the world with his choices. And as the DLC clearly showed, without the Warden the Darkspawn would have conquered Feralden amoung other things. The promo also says Hawke will be the single most important character in the world of Dragon Age. I was under the impression that The Warden was the single most immportant character.

Well age isn't the only reason one's hair can turn white, the transformations of the woman in the picture with horns growing from the back of her head would surely take a heavy toll on her....perhaps accelerating her aging, and DAO doesn't spawn even a quarter of the time DA2 spawns so Morrigan may well make an appearence somewhere in the second half of the game.

It would be nice seeing her with the child even if you cant interact with her. Image IPB

Oh, I'm sure Morrigan WILL make an appearance. The Game Informer article pretty much assured that. I'm just saying that that particular character probably isn't Morrigan. Oh, and those 'horns' seem a lot like simple hair accessories.

Morrigan never conceived a child with "The Warden". She conceived a child with Alistair. XP
