“With Dragon Age 2 we are creating an exciting new entry point into the Dragon Age universe while ensuring that fans of the original game retain a sense of satisfaction and familiarity in the world,” said Dragon Age 2 Executive Producer Mark Darrah. “We are amplifying the things that made Dragon Age: Origins such a huge success while introducing a more dynamic combat system, improving the graphics, and telling the most important story in our world.”
sounds like we won't be left hanging....
"Dragon Age 2 thrusts players into the role of Hawke, a penniless refugee who rises to power to become the single most important character in the world of Dragon Age. Known to be a survivor of the Blight and the Champion of Kirkwall, the legend around Hawke’s rise to power is shrouded in myth and rumor. Featuring an all-new story spanning 10 years, players will help tell that tale by making tough moral choices, gathering the deadliest of allies, amassing fame and fortune, and sealing their place in history. The way you play will write the story of how the world is changed forever."
So we had the "Origins" roughly 1month time in the story... now we have one coming that spans 10 years! looks like we had a beginning... getting the middle.. so a 3rd for the end (maybe?)... and I bet that one will be magnificent.

Is being a "God-Baby" as appealing as it sounds? If your hero is a Demi-God what evil could possibly stand against him/her. Wouldn't that make your hero way too powerful? I think the Demon-Child should be a villain; and the hero should be an ordinary human, who has to overcome incredible adversaries and obstacles to rise up and become the most influential person in the Dragon Age universe—that last bit was from the official description of the plot.
I really hope they dont make the god baby the main villian, it would just feel like your everyday lame cookie cutter main villian.

Origins:
1) Origin of Dragon Age franchise.
2) Major feature of first game that apparently will not be present in this game.
Also:
3) a return to BioWare's origins with Fantasy RPGs.
Wasn't your origin an action mech game called Shattered Steel?

Quit crying. Why are you here? There's nothing for you obviously.
1.) I'm here for the same reason you are. DA2.
2.) crying? HAH! I'm far from crying..and if you think I am then you're a ****ing moron.
3.) I'll post where I want..don't like it? tough...don't read my posts.
I'm crying and need to get lost because I feel different then you?
wow that's new on the internet isn't it.
get a clue.
No, you're just an overreacting idiot based on the miniscule information we have. I'm sure the laughter is covering the tears considering how invested you seem to be that the DA2 stay as similar as possible to Origins.

Well can you at least tell us if we are going to hear from Morrigan or her child? in Dragon age 2 or in any Dragon age to come? Because I am very disapointed with this.Victor Wachter wrote...

We did.
Which means that Morrigan is not his mother and Hawke is not the god child in DA2.

I wouldn't really say that DA:O took place over the course of one month considering that as a Mage you have a conversation with Wynne saying its almost been a year since you left the Circle of Magi. It's definitely not as long as a decade, but if I had to guess, DA:O spanned around a year and a half to two years of time.

Sorry if it's been asked before (in this thread), I read the first 2 1/2 pages and didn't see anything, but didn't want to read the rest.
Never mind, ninja'd

I may well be reading far too much into this, but the way you worded that makes me wonder.
You say "Hawke is not the god child in DA2." which sort of implies to me that someone else in DA2 will be the god child.
It just seems odd to add that bit of specificity if the god child had nothing to do with the game. /ponder

What do you mean 1 month? You traveled across an entire country several times. That doesn't just take a single day. I estimate that it lasted at least 1-2 years.

The God-child might not make any appearance in DA2, simply because of when it starts. It's POSSIBLE, tho really unlikely, to meat a pregnant Morrigan (or an angry one) early in the game, since DA2 starts around the end of the 5th Blight. But there hasn't been anything to say how long after.
Also, The endings of BOTH Origins & Awakening hint at other adventures. Has it not occured to anyone that in DA3 (or any other future game in the DA universe) that maybe you could import/re-create the Warden/Alistair/Hawke or future star Character? Wouldn't even be close to the first time THAT happened...
Ultima, for instance, tied 9 distincly seperate games together, is just one example. We know far to little to do more than speculate (and/or moan). And all that does is give indigestion.
