Just so you know, I'm a sucker for collector's editions. I'm certain there loads of us out there. If you put it out, I WILL buy it.

 Don't encourage this crap please.

If they're going to make Collectors editions they need to have awesome, physical goodies or at the very least digital versions of these goodies.

DA:O's collectors edition was great with the cloth map, tin and what not, and the digital version was alright. (Even though they only gave you half the soundtrack in an act of incredibly shady business) but the key is physical goodies or non-ingame content like a Guide, soundtrack and behind the scenes videos, not digital throwaway items that wreck the experience

ME2's was terrible.  A 40 page art book that was hardly comprehensive, Behind the scenes videos mostly comprised of marketing videos we'd already seen (We want to see stuff about how dragon age was developed, not Ray talking about how deep and dark mass effect 2's story is for 20 minutes)   and the in game goodies often were contradictory to the experience. (hiding the characters face when the way the face animates was a huge part of many cutscenes)

What I would want personally to be in the DA2 collectors edition would be this:

1: Steelbook case (Same design concept as DAO)
2: Cloth map like the one seen in DAO collectors
3: A few DLC exclusive items or content.
4: The DA anime on DVD (or Blu Ray if on PS3) since that will probably be released close to the release of DA2.
5: The DA 2 soundtrack in digital and CD form.
Can't think of anything else at the moment. If they had any of that I would buy it. Especially if the anime movie came with it. Hell, I'm going to buy it anyways.

Forgot to add, would love to see a making of/blooper reel DVD with it as well. An artbook would work if it was done like the Warhammer one posted by Crrash.

The soundtrack definetly needs to be on CD, I was devastated to find that my PS3 collectors edition soundtrack could only be used on a PC with a blu-ray drive.

Dragon Age 2 is probably one of the few games that I can consider pay more than 100 bucks for a Ultimate Edition... I simply love Origins.

Agreed. I have purchased almost every single thing Dragon Age related since launch, including the pen and paper game and the Hot Topic t-shirts just to get the free DLC item. Give me more!

As far as what i would like to see in a CE:

1. Bonus DLC items just for CE buyers

(just like DAO CE had)

2. Cloth map of the area the game takes place in.

(wish there would have been one for Awakening. Like someone above said that each DA game/expansion should have a map of the area so in the end you end up with one big map. Maybe you could also include the cloth map of the area for Awakening in DA2 CE)

3. A figurine of the main chara and maybe others in the game

(somethign like Street fighter IV did with their CE i got a Ryu figurine)

4. A real Treasure chest lock box

(a lock box that looks like the treasure chests from in the game that actually can be unlocked/locked with keys or "Lockpics" like in the game. think rouge ability)

5. Soundtrack of DA2

(A disc that actually works in the PS3 or maybe even just a code that we would use to digitally download the soundtrack)

6. DA2 T-shirt!!

(everyone loves T-shirts!)

when i think of more i will post again :)

no one else has any input into what you want in a CE for DA 2?

Cloth map is always awesome. Fancy box, soundtrack, concept art (but ya know... bigger book than ME2 so we can actually see the art.) stickers... everyone loves stickers and if they're don't they're a terrorist anyway.

Oooo maybe do the case in a faux-leather (dragon skin...) book binding with the art-book, game case, and and map/goodies pockets all attached to make it look like a traveling journal or something.

Maybe some blood stains on the cover.

little shocked that more people aren't interested in giving input on what they would like to see in a possible CE.

So far Bioware hasn't announced any plans for a CE of DA 2, but maybe if we showed them that fans are interested and what the fans would want in a CE, Bioware might take are ideas into consideration.

I would be surprised if there wouldnt be a CE with a tin box and a cloth map just to make some extra money. And I MUST have it anyway. >.>

For myself... I will be very happy with a steelbook, soundtrack CD, a small figurine or diorama (our Warden killing the arch demon scene for example :) ) and an artbook... Besides of course three our four exclusive in game items. :)

Like I said, give us a real ultimate edition and I will pay a lot for it... Something like Halo: Reach Legendary Edition with steelbook.

I want a solid silver case with gold trim, a real longsword (or greatsword, but I'm not sure I could lift that), a wand capable of harnessing my possibly non-existent magical talent, a romance, and hand drawn map.

Oh, and DA2. I'll give ya 60 bucks.

If they're doing release DLC, honestly, that. I lose physical things like nobody's business.

Hmm, well a cloth map is a must. Same goes for the kick ass case. I would LOVE and artbook like Bioshock 2s artbook. Some in game items, like the Tome of the Frozen Wastes. Hmm I personally think a book with all the codex pages in it would be pretty cool, if it was designed to look like an old journal or something. I like the Chest idea too, maybe have the whole thing in a mini chest type thing. Behind the scenes DVD, with lots of info on the making of the game. People like me love seeing how these are made seeing as we hope to get into the industry one day. Soundtrack would be nice too. OOO!!! High dragon figurine. ^_^

I liked the Collector's Edition of GTA IV the best. We got some art, a music cd, bag, crappy game, and best of all a lockbox (I keep all my important papers in there its awesome).

They don't announce CE's till way later, but if I could make a suggestion to an ideal CE I would purchase, it would consist of-

A metal case in a slip case(much like ME2 and DAO), with

*Copy of Dragon Age 2

*Bonus Disk detailing the making of, inspirations, past, present, and future of the Dragon Age universe and series. Interviews with cast and crew, views at concept art(Think ME1 LCE Edition), and an exclusive Collector's only Xbox Dashboard background, PS3 background, and PC background)

*Complete Soundtrack of Dragon Age 2

*2-3 in-game Collector's Edition only items

*Cloth Map of the Free Marches

*Letter-opener of Hawke's Polearm(can you guys even do that? Rofl)

*Codes to Free Release Day DLC(Think Shale, Zaeed, etc)

For the price of $75-80.

Or if you guys can create an Ultimate Edition with ridiculous amounts of stuff for like $100, I'd buy it.

Just no night-vision goggles. Please.

By the way, am I the only one that's waiting for a Collector's Edition of a game to EXCLUDE the game itself?
