From the comments i have read we will be "rising to power" and possible forming some sort of empire.



That would be odd with no mention of cavalry existing.

I doubt it, unless they somehow work them into the combat or gameplay. (Perhaps you travel the roads on your horse?) it won't happen.



It's something that is very difficult to do well and when it likely won't be used for any significant gameplay elements the time developing them could be better spent somewhere else.

And cloaks! Even Neverwinter Nights had cloaks. You have no idea how complicated the lack of horses in Origins is for my fanfiction writing though, I had to write in that there was a really bad equine flu outbreak in Ferelden during the Blight.

Now if they could incorporate Mount & Blade-style mounted combat, I would totally sell my soul to Bioware.

horses, bowstrings, cloaks, longer-than-shoulderlength hair, different animations for male and female characters (seriously, I know my character makes a living by chopping off people's heads, but could she please look somewhat feminine when not doing so?), inter-party relationships (I can see Alistair and Leliana hitching up if I don't claim one of them), and a few others are on my wish-list.

Yes, it would be nice to know they exist. How about a horse that stays in your camp for when you travel.

They existed in the novels and in the comic, I just think horses are allergic to Blights is all.

Since griffons are extinct, they'll have to be zombie griffons. Or revenant griffons.

I'd imagine they have **** riders, but that won't fit in this setting.
