 Freaking CALM DOWN everyone.

I get that this is a forum for the community to talk about the newly announced Dragon Age 2.  But the speculation and sheer bashing of something you haven't even seen a screen shot is mind boggling to me.  So many people are already bashing the game with only 2 concept screens and a 1 paragraph description.

With Bioware's pedigree of great games don't you think that they deserve a little of our trust?  How quickly so many of you are willing to bash on something you haven't even seen is crazy to me.  Speculation is great, but hating on something that you have no idea what it is or will become, is quite frankly a little premature and a little stupid.

Just my two cents.  Don't mean to offend anyone with strong opinions.

It is because they are changing a lot of the stuff that were staples of the old game. I am sure that DA2 will be a great game but I'll admit that I am worrying because the game is sound more like a Mass Effect game than a Dragon Age game

Thing is not everyone think Biowares latest games has been that good and they really do seem to be falling into something that could be called a pattern on how things goes. I loath Mass effect 2 personally and to date it's the only Bioware game I don't own and I don't want Dragon Age to fall into the same hole.

Granted Dragon Age had some flaws and I thought the combat toward the end could have used a lot of work but it was still tactical and this was suppose to be the spiritual sequel to the Baldur's gate games (Baldur's gate 2 is probably my favorite game of all time and the only game that never left my hard drive since 97). Bottom line is while it's not proof something is wrong the combat lines gave the impression of more hack and slash combat or something and it didn't even mention group combat or anything like it.
That does worry me.

I wonder if they'll only give you one suit of armor and the same couple of weapons to play through the entire game with.

While you may have good intentions, the tone of your post is a bit confrontational and only tangentially related to Dragon Age 2. Speculation and opinion sharing, extreme as it may be is par for the course with a new game announcement.

Everything your saying here seems like a valid concern.  Maybe I am just of a different mind set at the moment because I loved everything second of Mass Effect 2.  I think of it as a masterpiece of which all video games should be compared to ( not joking).

Just all the bashing threads are driving me crazy.  I love DA:O.  I thought it was the best game of 2009.  So I just don't see how Bioware could mess it up for me, personally.  But that's coming from the Mass Effect 1-2 crazed person.
