Assassins Creed games happened over quite long periods of time. Different game altogether but it is possible. Fables another example.
Assassin's Creed was good but.. the time skip at the end was too much, you went from being a newbie to a pro within 5 seconds.
Don't get me started on Fable 2.

This is what I find most interesting about the information that has been revealed to us... Takes place over Ten Years? How exactly... How do you think this story will play out over 10 years? Most games like to take place in one place, during one time, because it's easier to tell a story and keep events consistent. 10 years is a long time, do you think Dragon Age 2 will be as long as Dragon Age Origins, or longer? What are you thoughts?
Dragon Age 2 will be the Baldur's Gate 2 to Dragon Age Origins Baldur's Gate.
Yep.

you start off as a kid in some village, then darkspawn swoops in the murder everyone, cue a cut scene, and then slowly fades into black screen, then the word 'ten years later' appears, and you pick up from there.
Then you find out you are actually the chosen one at some point.

Hopefully, this means you'll see the PC age. Now THAT would be awesome.

the whole 10 year thing just doesnt seem right to me i can only imagine it will be a lot more linear because of it. afterall a full world map that needs to consistently change based on your choices seems unlikely i just dont know how its going to work
