Australian, Just like the mandalorians.
Not Australian, New Zealand. Seriously!
Always though the Mandalorians were more British than those two lol, I'm Australian but I just can't think of an Australian accent in a medieval/fantasy game for some reason haha.
It'd be good to have some scottish accents.

Actually, my very reliable inside sources at Bioware tells me that Hawke will have a heavy Jamaican Accent
Hawke is Jar Jar Binks? That would explain all the hate.
At any rate, a game fully voiced with a metric ****ton of fake German (or other) accents would probably be more likely to make me send Bioware a box stuffed with manure than anything else they could do short of stopping to make RPGs.

I'm going to guess that it's slightly Germanic.
That was the accent of that northern kingdom where the Grey Wardens had their HQ though right?
I take it nobody here really knows much about the Free Marches but hopes they have a Celtic accent.
Ok, maybe the Free Marches are the equivalent of Wales, Ireland and Scotland to Ferelden's England, eh?

Since it is free city states are we looking at something Italian? Though Kirkwall sounds sorta Germanic.
Even if your character is from Kirkwall, that doesn't mean that that is in the Free Marches.
I suspect, personally, and this is pure speculation, that Kirkwall was in Fereldan, and when your character escaped the Blight, he ends up in the Free Marches.
Actually if you look at the map of Thedas you can see that Kirkwall is indeed in the Free Marches.
As for the accent the people of the Free Marches have, it could be anything but I'd guess it would be slightly German. I think the Free Marches are based on the Holy Roman Empire which was an institution of allied independent German states.
Yeah, I saw the map after I made that post, but thanks! in any case, I was still right to a partial extent, that your character is from Ferelden and ends up in the Free Marches - its just that he is from Lothering.

Kirkwall sounds very Scottish in influence. Geographically it would make sense to be the lowland countries (Netherlands, Belgium), but just from name it feels Scottish. Plus Dutch accents for a whole game would sound weird after a while...
I am Dutch and I agree no Dutch accents please!
Some of my friends have a rather noticeable Dutch accent when they speak English, it just sounds aweful.

I would prefer a Highlander style weird Scottish/French thing going on. Infact every character should be voiced by Christopher Lamber.
And David Tennant.

Come on, out with it. Are you, in fact, David Tennant? Frankly, this is shameless self promotion, and you are, after all, already quite famous.

Additionally, British accents are starting to bore me for some reason... Perhaps I listen to the BBC World Service a little too much?

This is not, incidentally, a vote for such.
