If you're prone to wild imaginings and reckless speculation then you can take it elsewhere; there are PLENTY of other threads for that at the moment. THIS is a thread for the apparently few of us that are actually feeling optimistic about Bioware's new game!
To avoid looking like a hypocrite, I'll say that I'm not excited about Dragon Age II based on the information available (because there is NONE, more or less), but rather because Bioware is a world-class developer of RPGs and they have never let me down.
So, what say you?

Once I heard it had the same writers as DA:O, I was no longer worried. DA2 will be awsome.

From what little we know, I'm excited.

I'm ready for it! I know it will be good. I have trust in the "Bioware".

I was really hoping to continue my DA1 Warden, but oh well. That part is definitely a bummer. Bioware really hasn't put out a poor product, and with EA's backing i'm sure they'll churn out a good game
I might be in the minority, but I don't mind seeing a swords & sorcery Mass Effect 2 game. That's just me.

You know, I'm not happy that I can't import my character from DA1, but the fact that it spans over ten years gives me hope that we will be able to directly affect the game we are currently in.

The stuff about the PC only being human surprised me (as in "huh, that's interesting," not "OMG THIS SUUUUUXXXXX"), but I'll be optimistic and wait for more info (and the game itself) before making a judgment. I'm surprised how many conclusions people are jumping to based on the paragraph's worth of info.

I'm definitely looking forward to more details about DA2. It's far too early to make an assessment either way.

I need more info though, up until it's released it's gonna be horrid waiting for every new bit of info I can find.

I trust them to make this game better then the original. The world and its lore been established which means this game could go any where. I can't wait to see how the world has changed since DA:O and how its future will be changed by this game.

EEE!! Same here! BioWare =
Seriously, though, so far they've done things right as far as I'm concerned. The new art direction looks very pretty and stylistic, and maybe Thedas will be LESS BROWN this time around...more of an off-grey? Yay? But I'd love to see new parts of Thedas. No offense to Ferelden, the DA:O story, or any of that--I loved my DA:O PC to itty bitty bits, but I felt like her story was more or less resolved, and she didn't even hit the Ultimate Sacrifice ending. I'd love to explore new parts of the world BioWare's given us, with a brand-spanking new PC.

I said this in a couple of threads and I'll say again. I'm already more interested in this game than I was with DAO. The gray warden story line was interesting, but it didn't really make sense unless you played the dalish origin. Hopefully we get a better start to the game this time around.
They haven't said anything yet, but I hope Bioware realizes this time around that dark and mature doesn't mean grossing me out every 5 minutes with those childen monster things in Awakening...

Well, the part about the main character being set threw me after the freedom the first game offered - but this does mean we can reasonably expect our pc to be voice acted and I do like that option.
And the fact that the same team from DA:O is apparently doing the sequel fills me with confidence.
If I had the money, I would preorder this right now.

I'm excited to see whats up next for the DA world as well. I can only think of two total game breakers for me. 1. if DA2 doesn't involve Morrigan and her baby 2. If I end up finding nothing more about the Architect.

Cast a good voice actor as the PC and have more than three sets of armour and I'm sold. More classes, more visible impact on the game world and more extreme violence and I'm even more sold.
