So, beards of tier 9 or higher are available for mages only.

Aye, but Tier 10 and 11 beards are only available to Dwarven two-handed weapon warriors. Obtaining these epic beards also requires importing a save of DA:O where only certain, manly, dialogue options are chosen, without one mistake. The Dwarf must then go through DA2 having sex with every women he sees, and saying things that are manly.

this post gave me a good laugh bravoImage IPB

Manly? Imagine if he grew a beard.Image IPB

hmm. Perhaps it serves the same function as Chuck Norris' beard? To conceal another fist?

Is Beard going to be a romance option for female characters?

You know, like a consolation prize to go with our pile of tampons. :P

Not just a romance option, a *bisexual* romance option, you know, because that seems to be the new make-or-break of any RPG.

Well, that's a bit like dog in Origins. You either have it from the beginning as Human Noble, or acquire it later. Similar thing here: male Hawke has the Beard from the very start, while female Hawke will acquire it later and will be able to choose to adopt it herself, or to let it make itself at home on any companion's face. This will determine future romance options: self-beard-romance or a romance with companion, wearing the Beard (romancing the Beard means romancing the beard-bearer as well, even if it's yourself).
This of course means that male Hawke being forced to have the Beard for himself only is limited to 1 romance option, where he touches himself at night. I mean, touches his Beard of course.
Furthermore, when Beard turns out to be the evil and mighty ArchBeard (or the One Beard, as some call it), you'll have to confront it and during final battle either sacrifice yourself, if you're wearing it, or kill the companion possessed by the ArchBeard. Also, all Ferelden mabari will be killed during final battle because ArchBeard will mind-control their fur.
Also, at some point in game you'll have an option to shave all your and your companion's  hair, excluding beards. If you won't do so to preserve good look and keep your crotch warm and furry, during final battle Beard will attempt to control your companion's hair which will make them suffer constant manly damage, and if they don't pass mental resistance check they will fight against you.
And finally a hint: tampons are the key factor in defeating the Beard and Beardspawn, as they diminish manliness drastically. They're used as grenades, but have very little area of effect.

I didn't think things could get any more random, but...all I can think of is Trash Can Gold. Image IPB

Nothing random here. Manly damage is even more dangerous than spirit damage (it's much more manly) and lowering enemy manliness (that determine manly damage like spellpower determine spell effectiveness) is vital. Tampons diminish enemy manliness by 10%, but if you want to win on difficulty above casual you'll need tampon grenades (3 used tampons, corrupter agent, concentrator agent + flask).

During one of the quests you'll find the Urn of Andraste's tampons (found in a swamp, where once was located a Tevinter brothel. There's a story here, involving Andraste, her general, a shaved mabari and 12 Tevinter harlots, but the Chantry scholar who uncovered it was burned alive with his research by personal order of Grand Cleric). Those Andraste tampons are extremely powerful, but if you craft tampon grenades of them they'll be able to reduce enemy manliness to zero no matter how high it is. So, you'll want to save them for the last battle.

@Virtual winter: Ah yes, the unique tier 12 beard, +100% manly damage and immunity against tampons and tampon grenades. Thankfully, no enemies in game have it equipped, it's only available to player.... As far as I understand. Maybe they'll make it free downloadable content like blood Dragon Armor? It won't harm game's balance anyway since it will require maximum manliness to equip.

It also gives you another weapon slot. Can equip 2 handers or missle weapons aswell.

Soooooooo, basically it conceals another fist, right? Which holds the weapon? Chuck Norris style. Come to think of it, Wizard and Super-Wizard (not to mention the Archwizard) beards should act as ranged weapons themselves. They should fire magical manly homing projectiles, just like magic staff. And do so automatically, no matter what weapon character have equipped in his hands or beard fist. So if you have a staff and a Super-Wizard beard you fire twice as much projectiles, compared to wielding staff in DA Origins.
Of course, beard projectiles should be blocked only by manly materials, unlike staff projectiles, that can be blocked by anything, even a pink wall with dancing unicorns drawn on it. Or a dancing unicorn itself...

Of course, beards are usable as weapons by the beardspawn too.

Instead of naturally breeding, they assimilate people into the embrace of the ArchBeard, in manner similar to this:

Ew... I call for a new specialization for warriors - "Beardcutter"... Or  "Barbarian Barber", which contains talents, used to render useless and chop off enemy beards. And for mages - "Debearderer" which includes spells, protecting from Beards (spell effectiveness determined by mage's manliness instead of spellpower).

Also, thanks a lot for the video, just when I was going to have some tea with cookies... Yuk...

I wish they would just cut-off the damn beard.. Hawke looks old and boring.. he looks like younger Duncan or they were just trying to make him look like Leonidas. Goatee would be awesome though.. just like my PC... Image IPB

You'll be able to change the Beard into a goatee once you or one of your companions learned "Barber" skill up to 2nd rank. However if you do so, Beard disapproves -30 (or -10 if you have a high persuasion).
