As Hawkes is a Blight survivor and Blights happen every 200 years, i doubt that you could import anything. I base this on the fact that in dragon age origins the Blight "ended before it really started". Hawkes is from some remote village and he is called a survivor, so its highly unlikely that he survived the blight that happend in DA:O. And, well, in 200 hundred years everyones pretty much dead and importing DA:O data would affect only codex entries...

So no, my guess is that you cannot import.

Big deal, you can't import your created Warden, wow that really is a shocker, sarcasm. People klisten unlike Mass Effect they never came out and said save your data, you can import in DA2. Note:If I am wrong please correct me politly.

Now I'm not saying that there wont be some transfering of data, in fact I hiope that story decisions such as what you decided to do with the Dalish, not sure if spoilers are allowed here so I'll leave it at that. Now however it will not break the game if they decide not to import any data and just refernce vaguely what happened in DAO. It is a new game and for me new characters including a new main character is a great thing.

Remember they are telling the story of the land, not the story of the Wardens. The Wardens aren't all that can fight in Ferelden, and besides we don't know for a fact that we are still in Ferelden in DA2, For all we know right now we are in the neighboring country of Orleis or anyplace else around Ferelden.

Just because you can't play the Warden, doesn't mean you can't import. In fact you probably CAN import, and it will effect background lore and character cameos.

As for the people complaining about "this is like ME3 without Shepard" and "You can't import a save game with a dead character because you can't in ME"

DA is NOT ME. ME is Shepard's story, that's why he is the main character in all three games and you can't continue with him dead. DA has never been explicitly about the Warden, its about the World of Thedas, the Warden is just the way we first experienced that world. If imports are allowed (and I am guessing they are) then a dead warden should be as equally valid as a living warden. Since neither will actually show up in DA2, the dead warden probably offers more closure and an excuse to have statues of him standing all over the place

Sounds to me like you're pulling information out of where the sun doesn't shine.

1. Why can't Hawke be a survivor of the blight I just ended?

2. They said we would be able to import our characters into future installations, what they didn't say was that it only counted for Awakenings.

So far it sure sounds like ME to me.

My point was: Would you really call a person of some remote village a survivor? In origins even until the end people doubted that it was a real blight. Even the characters in DA:O said that the blight was ended before it started.

If theres a hurricane in spain and you live in United States, are you a survivor? Naw.
I do not have any exact facts, it was just my opinion.

Except Hawkes is still in Ferelden, and it was only believed NOT to be a Blight at the start of the game.  And it wasn't just one tornado, it was a whole horde of them. with a fire-spitting dragon commanding them.

This sucks.I want my warden back.

Why would Bioware change everything that people liked about this game?

They just chuck all the old characters out a window along with everything else and exspect you to run with it? Bah Ive made up my mind. Im not buying this.

"Everything that you like" is not "Everything that people like"
A lot of people want to play a new story with a new character instead of continuing to drag along a level 60 ubermench that has seen and done basically everything up to and including killing the Archdemon

but why say at the end of DA:O the companions will not meet again at least for a while??

and then BW said in an interview around the time they were releasing Awakening that we haven't seen the last of Morrigan and the Warden???

did they change there plans on how the story continues?

or will they return in some DLC or maybe DA3??

Spottyblanket is right.  Brand new characters; new romances; new places.  It's all good.  Besides, there was some serious power inflation by the end of Awakenings.  At 30-plus levels, you get long battles of zillions of spells and hits which ever so slowly scrape away health.  It'll be nice to start all over again with a new dude at level 1 who will be happy just to find a nice set of gauntlets or perhaps a few coppers.

I'm thinking we'll get more continuation in DLC and such. Who knows about DA2 though at this point.

Your point being?  What, suddenly because he "disappeared" it's valid to justify it as an ending?

What I want to know is, will my saved games be or not be of any use later down the road, with this game or any other DLC or any other future games?

Uh, no.  It's not all good.  This was supposed to be a series where you carried your character across several DLC/Games and saw his actions play out differently in later games depending on the outcome of the first games.  Or so Bioware said and led us to believe.

Well since now I know that playing my other character was a waste of time I'll just wait for DA2 and make his long lost child, Ser Ferganand The Knightly.

i am one of those who wants the game to be imported, but to play in the future of dragon age, in sixth blight or something. and i meant that it wrapped our story up, why should they bring him back again ? this is cool enough for me
