I just would like to know If we were told that there nothing of the other games into the new game..because like come
on im not made of money$$$ but having a DA:A end your the warden seem alittle unfair. but maybe thats just meand need to get a chill pill and wait for more news.I guess i don't mind of the new guy but it wont bee my story it will be his story which isn't not good but i would have liked them to end the first game on a bigger note from just DA:A. (it not unlikly that the the warden form the first game might still be alive alonly 10 years now..)
The story of DA:2 look good though by making you find allies but i hope you can have some power in making your army in stead of just finding people to fight for your cause..the game is sounding fun and i trust bioware to put out a good product..or else.

Dragon Age: Origins hasn't finished yet. The announcement of DA2 doesn't mean they've stopped making content for DA:O - there could still be a "proper" end for the Warden in the future.
True, but this also very strongly indicates that all the attention is going to DA2 while DAO gets the shaft. Basically you have to keep up with the latest installment or get left behind...

I'll give you 100% we are still going to release more DLC for Dragon Age: Origins before we release Dragon Age 2. And I have said as much repeatedly now.

Now that they've announced DAO 2 there's no reason they can't move your warden to more of a ending focal point. Though to be fair, DAA did have a ending for your warden, even if it wasn't hte one everyone wanted.

I hope we're talking about a full-sized $40 expansion here?Chris Priestly wrote...

thanks I didn't know that.
it still kina feels like its so fast that could be because i didn't even do my first play though DA:A doing my DA:O main play though first while I have DA:A in its box. I just found it wierd that that they would end it off with out a whole game. (Which I was told wrong)
( going to play DA:A now!)

DA2 is a new story, with a new Hero. Some of what you did in DAO may have an impact in DA2, like, say, saving the world from the 5th Blight, but now it's time for someone new to take center stage.

In what way was Dragon Age: Origins "bare bones"? Did you absolutely have to have any of them to complete it? No, you did not. In fact, nothing you do in them is recognized in the main game.

Yes, because DAO was a bare-bones game with little worthwhile content. I'm sure all the DLC we got later on was already finished when they released DAO, and they're just releasing it bit by bit so they can keep charging us for it.
Or, maybe, they actually have a team of people working on new content that wasn't done in the original game. And since we're not paying a monthly subscription, they need to find a reason why they're spending manpower and ressources on that added content... and the solution is having paid DLC.
Let's make this clear: You already HAVE the full game. This is extra content that requires developement that they finance by charging for it. It means that when you have a game you really like, you now get to have more of if it you want to pay for it.. That's a good thing, as far as I'm concerned.
Otherwise, by your logic developers should never work on additional content and focus on the sequel instead, because any added content automatically implies the original game was not finished. Taking this a bit further, we might as well say that Mass Effect isn't even finished yet, and they've been milking us by releasing additional content in the form of sequels. Only once Mass Effect 3 is released will ME be complete.
Short version is: there's no evil conspiracy. Games, at least Bioware's, are released in a complete form. Nothing is unfinished. Additional content is just that: new content in addition to the complete game. Nothing more.

I would welcome also, the ability to interact a bit more with the environments. The scenery in DA is breathtaking, but we are limited in our interaction with said scenery. I would like my character to swim in the shimmering lake, swim in the breathtaking waterfall or the ability to jump. That would be a delicious treat if that can be included in DA II.
In addition, it is only proper to give our Grey Warden a proper retirement before this new Saga begins. Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to DA II. Just the idea of new gaming tactics... "fight like a Spartan" that truly sparks my interest to a new height. What I enjoy in DAO is the fighting (besides the ability to impact the gaming experience via our chosen responses) it is truly an engaging, gut thrilling experience.

Will this DLC give us closure on issues like our relationship with Morrigan?
And will you still release DLC for Origins after the release of DA2?

Indeed you have.....and it is the best news anyone can hope for. I am not so concerned with them affecting DA2 in any way as I am about it being fun to paly and enjoyable......which it has been with the exception of Darkspawn Chronicles which was kind of a weak copy-paste-resell.

hehe, i didn't think of this yet, all the people who believed they can get their main character to DA2 and this is why they bought all the expansions and DLC for Dragon Age are now majorly screwed =P
I'm sort of in this group. Except I was adding a new DLC story for each play through, and was figuring out what all I wanted to do for my end all ultimate warden play through.... now I don't want to play through again because i know what I need to know for DA2, and I won't be buying the 30 odd dollars worth of DLC or the 40 dollar expansion either. Bioware's competition will be gaining purchases instead.
If I'm bored I'll pick up DA2... USED. Same with Awakenings. I support company decisions with my wallet. My small insignificant wallet. While ME3 will get my money... I think Dragon Age's dev team has lost my money.
Make better decisions Bioware. You might as well have hired Obsidian to make a DA2, at least it would be a continuation of a game we liked.
