It's all perspective.  If I were Alistair I'd put my love interest before my hate.  If I were Loghain I'd put my love of country before my distrust or hate of the wardens.  By the time you can recruit him, he's seen the blight, he's seen the darkspawn and he knows the warden's have the best chance of ending it.  My Loghain would join in a heartbeat if it would keep his country safe.

No it´s not. In the Landsmeet, Loghain admits that "The Blight is indeed real", but he adds "But do we need Wardens to end it? I believe not".

Now, if he had proposed an alliance right in the Landsmeet BEFORE there was any fighting, then I would have accepted him without any doubt or delay.

But as it is, I do not believe in his change.
Even worse, i can´t have respect for a guy who changes his entire worldview to save his ass when he got defeatd in a duel. Even his surrender was annoying to me. I think Loghain should have died honorably instead of begging to be spared.

I want a Dragon Age Atton, damnit! One that you can actually romance, rather than just be hinted at. I think they did really well for the most part with the DA:O romances, except what some other people have stated about the dialogue after the climax. I tried to spread out the dialogue throughout the game, but eventually the only way you can avoid it is by not going to camp. After you bed them, all you got was 'What can I do for you?' and all you could say was 'Nevermind'.

This might not be pertaining to romances exactly, but I'd like to see dialogue options appear based on progress in the game as a whole, not just things that have been said previously. If that makes sense. I don't want to be able to leave Lothering and end up exploring all the dialogue trees fully in one go.

There might be some slight exaggeration in this post, but I remain unashamed.

Agree.  Something after the lovemaking would be appreciated.

Dialogue options were staggered in KOTOR.  Some popped up in different places, walking through a town or back in the ship.  You always had the option to ignore or talk.  I hope we can continue to just take one of the group with us if we want to.  It makes for a nice romantic walk in town.

For the love of puppies and cupcakes there is an entire DA:O forum to talk about Alistair and Loghain on. Unless it has something to do with DA2 it's off topic and will get the thread closed. :crying:

Not officially yet but there are whispers in the dark about a dev who let something slip but we must not speak of such things:bandit:
So for now we're just running with ideas about what we'd all like to see in terms of romance.

I myself think Flemeth could be extremely interesting. If she's a companion they'd have to find a way to scale her powers back (see what I did there!) which could make for a very interesting character. A bit like Fred/Illyria on Angel, something powerful and terrifying trapped in the wrong body...
Whether she'd be a good romance is up to personal taste of course.

Right.  sorry.l  Obsessiveness is a sad sad thing, I know.

I liked Fred, she was my favorite.   I'm not sure about Flemeth as a romance option, but I just see her as she was in DA.  I did actually like some of her characteristics, since she saved my life.  It might be interesting.  I wonder if any of the previous body owners characteristics would come out, a stray memory or interest in radishes.  Wouild it be different if someone willingly gave their body to her vs someone who she just took over.

Michelle Pfeiffer should be the quintessence or the archetype for Lady Hawke; she embodies, femininity, gracefulness and beauty.  I enjoyed her immensely in  Lady Hawke and Dangerous Liaison (Starring Glen Glose).  She should  be the definite voice actor for our Femme/Lady Hawke.

Rutger Hauer is one of my favorite actors--he's so awesome. I would cast him to play Teyrn Loghain, if he was younger of course. Anyways, Michelle (can't spell her last name lol) is so freaking hawt--especially as catwoman. As for romances, I would want another Morrigan one--one that advances the plot, and not one that is just there.

Now if flemeth was a romance option, and if the Hawke was the god-child...Awkward!

But seriously, Hawke is probably not the god-child. I just hope the characters are interesting in their own way, and that Bioware somehow spice up how you build upon relationships.

Hawke CAN´t be the god-child. He escaped from Lothering, that means when the God-child was born he was already a full-grown adult and has started his adventures.

Why couldn't he have been a child when he escaped from Lothering? I personally hope you are fairly young, I don't like the idea of being too old. Call me superficial, but hey, I'm only eighteen.

I´m 18 too, but we´ll have to accept it isnt him. Even if he escapes as child - the God-Child is born about 9 months AFTER the death of the Archdemon. Lothering is destroyed during the Blight.

Oops. I know he can't be the god child, not only does it not make sense time-wise the devs have confirmed it's not happening. What I said was in response to you saying he was a fully grown adult by the end of the Blight or something. You know, the thing that WASN'T the focus of your statement.

Thinking back, I probably should have clarified myself.

i think there should be rivals ^_^ that always makes for more fun/interesting drama.

usually it's the player vs npc for another npc, but it would be cool if it was npc vs npc for the player. and i dont necessarily mean two timing either...

but physically I'd like to see a darker/black haired guy with maybe green eyes? maybe the best friend or gentlemen type? for the girls....just no princess or damsel in distress PLEASE. >_< especially the blonde hair blue eyes kind. =/

edit: oh and story story story ^_^

story > sex imo

i mean maybe it's me but i dont really play a game to er...experience or simulate sex. ^_^;;

:)  I've seen movies where the person who receives a heart suddenly starts craving something they never liked before and it turns out the donor had some kine of favorite food the recipient had never liked.  Have no idea if it's true, but it would be interesting if Flemeth actually changed a little each time she took over someone's body.  thus the interest in radishes.  :)

One of my favorite of all time movies.    The brave Captain, mysterious Black Knight,  who turns into a wolf just as his beautiful wife turns into a hawk and you can see their hands reaching out to touch as they change forms.   and the thief who has some funny lines and helps them win over the evil and corrupt bishop.  I had seen Rutger in Blade runner, but his is the movie that made him a personal day dream of mine.;)    LOVE this movie.  great action, funny and romantic.

Even though Ill be roleplaying a different character I still find it hard to see how they can top Morrigan. I find it hard to see how they can top Dantes dark haired minx!.

how did that hapen she seems so cold and hard and only intrested in her own servivel and she makes no seaacrete about it if she was a Jade Empire Chr she would be on the low path. I felt that any advance he made was only to further her own agender. or did i miss something? because everyone seems to love her.

Did you ever talk to her christrek? I was surprised after listening to her and Alistair sniping how completely opposite she seemed the very first time I spoke with her. If you are civil and respectful to her she is quite different. There is a lot she hides beneath that cold surface. ;D

If you are rude to her she is caustic right back--you definitely get what you give, in that sense.
