That being said, I want a therapist NPC.  Not as a romance interest, just to keep on hand for the inevitable therapy-mance (though I'm happy to admit that BioWare's been getting better on romance variety).  Just so that when angsty elf 4 with dead wife and bratty estranged son starts whining to me, I can chuck the therapist NPC at him.

...and the therapist should be Sandal.  MAKE IT HAPPEN, BIOWARE.  NAO

Yes, well, but average joes don't make interesting characters. When I want a boring ugly world full of (mostly) drab and uninteresting people, I go outside. I play Dragon Age (and RPGs in general) because I want to be frickin' amazed by the characters. Also, just because they're a tad messed up in the affection department, doesn't mean you'll be forced to talk to them about it all the time... hopefully.

It's got to be the mystery and voice.  I do like her voice.  Maybe a female mystic mage who wears a mask  You never know if she's terrably scared; will turn you into stone if you look her in the eyes or is just shy.   

I'll take someone like Sand.  Or I have a crush on Harry Dresdren so his type would be nice too.

Oh c'mon, bringing back an old romance option to romance as another character? No way. Also if Hawke tried to woo Leliana my Warden would challenge him to a duel and promptly kick his ass.

No, I trust BW will give us a romance like Leliana's. Sweet girl, eternal love, wonderfully romantic and all that stuff. Also, like I said before, sexy foreign accents.

I seem to remember Visas Marr from KoTOR II being quite popular, too (though only partially masked). Being able to imagine that someone looks like your ideal woman has to be the key!  Her voice was lovely, as well, if I recall correctly.

So how would those pursuing a male LI feel about a guy in a mask-type thing (and I mean permanently like Tali, rather than like Batman or someone)? I don't think I'd go for it personally, unless there came a point in the game where we got to see the man behind the mask. I like being able to see a man's face, even if it isn't a conventionally handsome face. Give him a reaaaaaallly sexy voice and I might change my tune, though.  Sorry, rambling.

I don't care too much about the sex scenes in games, but I do like the romance and to see it developing in games. That part is like good storytelling to me, and I think it makes it more interesting. I wish Alistair would come back! He is the ultimate game romance character :-D

Not for me.  I want to see his face and watch the expressions that comes across it when he looks at my character.  A masked bandit would have to be a Zoro type for me, and if he sounded like Antonio Banderas that would be a big plus.    

Please give us 2 different types of guys BioWare.  The good and the bad.  (fingers crossed and wishing on stars).

...You know what would be awesome? If they have the typical, sleazy LI archetype - who is completely enamored with your PC - actually live up to being the sleazy archetype and cheat. Beast. The character interaction hence forth could be awesome, and possibly serve to humanize both the PC and LI to a new degree.

Edit: It would be even more awesome if the LI cheats with someone else in the party.

I think the game should include non pristine type relationships as a romantic option rather than just having an NPC who is fully enamored with the player.

I'm sure anything Bioware throws at us will be great. When I was playing DA:O I thought the women had it way better since we got such an amazing romance storyline with prince Alistair. Men only had the option of choosing between a cruel swamp witch and a religious nut... but they still fell hard for their choices. Bioware always delivers in the romance department.
