After playing Dragon Age 0 and importing my character over with Alistair and Leliana to Dragon Age 1, I was totally disappointed that I couldn't do this again in Dragon Age 2.

How do you know we won't find out anything about Morrigan's child? Maybe it plays a huge role.

There was never any indication you would get to import your character or see old characters like Alistair or Leliana in a new game.

On the other hand, it is still likely that we will get something out of that Morrigan story at some point.

Gods... okay, it's probably save to say Dragon Age2 is not Dragon Age Origins2, but a whole new game where you start from scratch - story and level wise.

Makes sence to me. And i'm perfectly fine with it too. =)

I don't think you can really hold it against Bioware. They never said we would be importing our characters over in the sequel and that would've been a hell of a lot of decisions to keep track of, certainly more than there were in ME1.

It sounds like there weren't many things you liked about Dragon Age. I'm not sure why you're so upset over a series you apparently never cared much for anyway.

I want to make a new character. My character has had her story. Making characters is fun.

this is a new story not DAO, that hero did his/her bit.....i just hope DA2 keeps the feel of the old school, Baldurs Gate crpgs. I cant think of another sucessful pure crpg in a while, and while i love ME series and fable series, i really hope bioware stays away from the action rpg, simplified system for DA2, (like ME to ME2). Still, really pumped will love it either way

Well, since you're probably playing as Morrigans child, there are chances, she will be around. But I would really miss the rest of the crew. :(

No one ever said DA2 was going to be a direct continuation of DA:O. It was planned as a franchise and an original IP for BioWare to play with, never as a series or a trilogy like Mass Effect. I could understand being upset about a game series like Mass Effect if after the first game, the devs went, "Hey, sorry, no more Shepard! Start over with a brand new character in a brand new part of the galaxy!" But it's not analogous here.

They JUST ANNOUNCED THE GAME. Can we give BioWare some time to give us more information before we start complaining? XD

I loved the characters in DAO. Alistair is one of my favorite characters in a game ever. That doesn't mean I want him in every sequel.
I LIKE starting each new game fresh. It gives Bioware more freedom.

Ah alright, that makes sense.

But I hope, the child will play a role in DA2, I mean that was such an important event in DA1, they hopefully won't waste that.

I won't judge it right away like that... I was sceptical when they changed the game mechanics on ME2 and then that game came and blown me away.

Thank you! You just saved me from having to type out a nearly identical post of my own.
