Hmm. I kind of hope not. Maybe they'll handle it the way Obsidian handled KOTOR2, where you'll get a dialogue about the Warden, and the dialogue tree will help you determine what happened.
If it's ten years later, the Warden is presumably still alive and kicking, assuming s/he didn't have a heroic suicidal spaz attack.

I kinda hope the game doesn't tell me. It's my character, I'd rather filll in the blanks myself.
Agreed. In fact, I wish this game was about filling in those blanks.

Why all the need for 'closure?' can't you people take a happily ever after?

there still might be DLC to fill in those gaps
but I don't want to play a level 60+ character for an entire game, because to chalange him EVERY encounter will need to be equally epic and the whole thing could get stale. That and the fact that a dude who has killed more dragons than the most people in Thedas have even seen would be unrelatable to most NPCs. Playing a living legend is nowhere as interesting as someone trying to BECOME a legend.

@Saulot: the game takes place 10 years after the first game, so the warden didn't go on their calling yet.
Ah cool, thanks.

Getting smacked in the balls with the Dark RItual then searching for Morrigan after she steals off with your Old God Baby and conveniently vanishing after Awakening does not constitute "happily ever after" in my book.
You get perfect closure with the US. But the DR Wardens, especially after Awakening where they all "vanish!" with hints of more adventures, do not get any semblance of closure. They pull a Revan. And that, in my humble opinion, sucks.

Sounds like they pulled a KOTOR "What happened to Revan? He left the galaxy to seek out the True Sith?" plot point to me.

Wherever DA:O's ending slide said he'd be. Living with Lel, Zev, looking for Morri, ruling with Anora, Alistair, ruling the Dwarven kingdom, etc.

People want to see this happily ever after, I would assume.
