You haven't played Awakening yet obviously
Still waiting for it to go on a decent sale, actually. But some are dead, so there really isn't a sequel for them.

Wherever DA:O's ending slide said he'd be. Living with Lel, Zev, looking for Morri, ruling with Anora, Alistair, ruling the Dwarven kingdom, etc.
Why all the need for 'closure?' can't you people take a happily ever after?
Because it's an RPG!!! And perhaps you should read the slide ending DA:A

If Awakening was going to be ignored, why put a slide stating that the Warden vanished and more tales were coming?
I totally agree. I want to see where Morrigan is. I want to see what happened to my Warden. We have spent 100+ hours (including the Awakening) and we deserve some explanation. I believe Bioware will explain about our warden's story, though, in DA2. Also I believe our save games will be used to pick our decisions, and those decisions will have some references in DA2, even at a minor degree.
I'm sure Da2 will be a great game, too. But I really would love to chase Morrigan and find her. Besides, I have played ME1 & ME2 and I liked both, however I believe DA2's dialogue system is much better. I never liked wheel system, its so "casual". Not so suitable for hardcore RPG fans I believe. However, ME series sold better, so EA&Bioware maybe right to shift some of their features to receive similar sale revenues from DA2 like they did on ME2.

so is
there a
reason as to why you start a new story, when the wardens has not
finished as now i dont see how its a sqeual unless it somehow relates
to
the warden for a possible DA3.
you know halo followed 1 guy
and
called it 1 2 and 3 then soon as they ditched him they called it
ODST
and REACH not halo 4 and 5
part
of DA2.
Dragon Age is not about the Warden-- it's about
Thedas,
and the period of time within it called the Dragon Age.
I
guess we could drag the Warden into new stories even without a
Blight
to combat-- I could certainly think of things such a hero could
do,
even at such a high level-- but I also like the idea of visiting
different
stories, told through different heroes, rather than revisiting
the
same well over and over or trying to contrive a way to squeeze the
Warden
into places he/she doesn't belong.
If you disagree, then
I'm
sorry to disappoint. I hope you'll find something about DA2 to love,
and that you'll take ownership of Hawke the same way you did with your
Warden.
Just because you liked one of our characters that much,
after
all, doesn't mean it couldn't ever never ever happen again, does
it?

I wonder, if the Warden's story wasn't going the continue, why did the end of awakening state that the Warden vanished and that their story was not finished?
cuz there will most likely be more expansion(s) and/or more DLC to DA1 .... that story isnt dead yet folks!

And then I will (and depending on how Origins went, this may happen by a thrown dagger being inexplicably lodged in the back of my Warden's skull).
There. Closure for the Warden: death at the hand of another of Ferelden's dubious heroes. What could be grittier than that? Grieve, accept, and move on. Doesn't it feel good now that we have closure?
