Wherever DA:O's ending slide said he'd be. Living with Lel, Zev, looking for Morri, ruling with Anora, Alistair, ruling the Dwarven kingdom, etc.

Why all the need for 'closure?' can't you people take a happily ever after?

I guess because "you people" want to see the happy ever after! Image IPB

What happy ever after?  No speculation need for me. Dead and rotting....or did everyone skirt their ultimate sacrifice duties....come on guys...it only works if we all drink the "kool-aid" togeather

As pessimistic as this may sound,I'm going to assume that both the Warden (and Alistair) will probably have departed the realm of the living by DA2. (If the sequel were to happen say twenty years or so after Origins)

Your warden isn't dead, this is the problem.  While your still fighting the blight in Ferelden, Hawk is in the Free Marches and we get a 10 years viewing pleasure of his life.   Your Warden (for those who didn't kill yourself off), is still alive.  Even if you did kill yourself off and you played awakings you're still an Orleasian Warden who is still alive.

Since you're not an Awakening's owner your missing the info on one of the epligoue cards at the end of Awakenings.

Warning:  Spoiler.

Paraphrase:

You've defeated the threat, Warden disappears, but your story isn't done?  Where did the Warden go?.  Wasn't time for my calling just yet.

Hmmm, HN origin.  I'm around 19/22 when I kill arch demon.  Go to Amarathine I'm 22/24.  Then I disappear.

I still have time before going to my calling which I shouldn't be doing until I hit 40?

The warden did the ultimate sacrifice in DAO, killing the Archdemon and ending the Blight.

At least my warden did this, so there is no need to explain where he is ;)

I kinda hope the game doesn't tell me. It's my character, I'd rather filll in the blanks myself.

Agreed.  In fact, I wish this game was about filling in those blanks.

maybe an expansion? later hopefully.... please:whistle:

I saw a post on another thread by David that seemed to indicate an expansion in the works. Cross your fingers everybody :o

My PC is babysitting King Alistair. Blackadder the Third leaps to mind.

Alistair: Everyone says I'm the thicky but it's you!  Mister thicky...Cousland...thicky.

Is it possible that they are saving the warden character for a DA3?

Well, there's still DLC for Origins, so I wouldn't say the Warden's story is over yet. I'd say wait and see where the DLC takes the Warden. If Hawke is supposed to be the mightiest character in all of Thedas, then it's likely that the Warden dies somehow.

I suppose the ending of DA:A could be meant for people to use their own imagination and i really think it's the best way they could end it. If they told you that your warden's story ended that way and that's just how it is then it would be another bunch of people complaining. People would then be saying something along the lines of "Hey what's wrong with you my warden would never do that!"

If they include our wardens in DA2 it will be a yet third bunch of people complaining and so on. In my opinion it's best that they just let us imagine how the story of our wardens end. Especially with people loudly whining over the (as of yet baseless) rumors that their character will be defined for them and not by them.

I wonder, if the Warden's story wasn't going the continue, why did the end of awakening state that the Warden vanished and that their story was not finished?

Sounds like they pulled a KOTOR "What happened to Revan? He left the galaxy to seek out the True Sith?" plot point to me.

This irritated me to no end.  My Revan married Carth and they had 2 kids.  She didn't go wondering off looking for some Sith.  And my other Revan took Bastila to visit her sick mom and they traveled the universe doing jedi things. Obsidian should have left Carth and Revan out of it completely.

It was the abrupt ending of Awakening that left a bad taste in my mouth and kind of spoiled the whole closure/happily ever after thing.

That epilogue card from Awakenings also says you're story as the warden isn't finished and Felerden hasn't heard the last of you. I think this is why so many people are shocked on DA2 and this Hawk character.
