The game does not take place ten years after the first.

What I had thought and hoped about DA2, was that the Warden, after the defeat of the archdemon, and the completion of Awakening, would have been called to Weisshaupt. Here, he or she would be expected to explain/justify the descisions made about the blight, and the subsequent emerging of intelligent Darkspawn.

It could have made for an epic story, and moreover, a proper ending, one way or the other, to the warden. Alas, it was not to be... :?

Don't make useless posts just to bump a thread.

I always imagined that my main character is running the political scene in Ferelden after the game ends, and gave up being a Grey Warden.  After all, I never chose that path.  I left Awakening to a different character.

Hopefully a new dlc or expansion is in the works to end the Warden's story. Hope DA2 doesn't suck

I thought this was a natural assumption, personally.  I'm kind of baffled why it isn't happening--or perhaps another expansion?  That would be wonderful.  I won't hold out hope, though.

That's a great way to get your thread locked, man.  All you're doing is being obnoxious with the bump bump bump stuff.  If people are interested, they'll look.  Honestly, this question has already been answered elsewhere--the Warden slipped in the tub.  Tragic death.

Generally if there's life enough left in a thread, it will bump itself, what with all the people eager to post on it. Otherwise, let it die a humane and dignified death.

Why do people keep whining about a proper ending is beyond me. What I mean is that most of the players of Dragon Age did have their fitting endings and had the rest of the storyline interpreted by their imaginations. That's why fanfictions do exist, in a sense. But I do understand what some fans are trying to say and I respect that. Though, like BioWare staff said : people are afraid of change and will do a lot of irrational thinking until they see the final product. Don't lose hope.

It would be really nice to know if the Warden's story is truly done aside from a couple more DLCs perhaps. We know Morrigan's isn't, but that doesn't necessarily mean our Wardens will meet her.

I just finished another playthrough tonight, and I had forgotten how much obvious sequel-hooking there is, from Shale's search to regain her mortality in Tevinter, to Connor's odd behavior, to Morrigan and the baby of course, Leliana looking for Marjolaine (if you didn't kill her), etc. There is still so much a Warden could do that is not fighting a Blight. Plus, a visit to Tevinter would be kind of cool for city elves...I think Valendrian should be there.

I think they definitely have more than enough material to continue all those stories.

None of this is saying DA2 won't be great; I'm excited as hell for it. But I just think there is still so much potential here; I hope it's explored. And in an in-depth way, meaning at least an expansion. I don't think DLC can handle this much awesomeness.

The problem is Awakening, I think. Had Awakening not allowed people to continue on as their Warden, I don't think there'd be such a hoohah about DA2... nor the desire to "finish" the Warden's story, since it would have been finished in the first game without the "disappearing act" at the end of the Awakening epilogue.

As far as i'm concerned, my Warden is traveling the world with Leliana.
A good enough ending for that character in my opinion. And now I can't wait to start a whole new adventure with a new character.^.^

I know, cliffhangers should at least get some sort of conclusion but apparently not with DA2
