So theis is the reson DA:O did not have a commoner origin they where saving it for DA2.

Chosen one would have been an Origin story in which Duncan recruits a young farmer. with absolutely no combat experience, after he/she defeats a dozen darkspawn and proves to be a 'natural'.
Fleeing your homeland and achieving fame and glory over a period of ten years -- not so much.

Lots of people to kill, intimidate and impress.
