I have seen a lot of negativity today and concerns about Dragon Age 2 being a more console-focused game.  Let's get some things out in the open here:

1) Bioware recently made statements about loving the PC and thinking the PC is a great platform for the future.

2) Bioware is one of VERY few developers that recently made a VERY PC-focused title in Dragon Age.

3) Bioware released a REAL expansion pack like PC games used to get, rather than only DLC.

4) Bioware released mod tools for the PC community!

5) Even if the game is more console-focused, it is likely to be an amazing game anyway and get a quality PC port like Mass Effect 2 did.

I know we are all worried our tactical RPG with overhead combat and a decent difficulty level will be turned into an Oblivion-esque hack n' slash game, but let's give Bioware the benefit of the doubt... I feel they have earned that much!

I'm just worried that they'll do to DA2 what they did to ME2; force the IP in a new direction with little regard for the fans of the original.

I trust Bioware and i feel that this game is going to be good, but what i am slightly disappointed about is that it seems that in Dragon age 2 everything you did in origins seems to be a distant dream... I mean, it seems to take place in a completely different time. We cannot even be sure that Dragon age 2 doesnt happen in some alternate universe.

I have faith in Bioware. Always did. They didn't seem to let me down. So yeah.
Different story about PC gamers tho.

Mass Effect was never a real hardcore RPG like Dragon Age though... it was always a hybrid, it just leaned more to one side the second time (and was better for it, I feel).

That's a good thing if you ask me... the Elder Scrolls games jump decades ahead and happen in different areas and are all the better for it, I think.  Each game should be unique... DA:O still matters because it was a great game!

They took a character driven RPG/shooter hybrid and took it in the crazy new direction of character driven RPG/Shooter hybridness?

If all they do to DA2 is take DA and rebalance the classes and combat a bit that will be fine with me.

I'm not opposed to giving them the benefit of the doubt. I'm more concerned with what they have already confirmed to be changing for the sequel.

Besides, if we can't blame the consoled plebs, who are we supposed to blame?

I had immense faith in bioware it's just that, with the announcements (that other people told me of though) I think dragon age is going drop alot of rpg-elements. And since I prefer a good rpg above anything. That would literally make me cry.

I still have hope the marketing that was released today, is just more of the same as the kind that was released before DAO hit. If people remember that was blatently misleading to try and draw in the console crowd, I'm hoping this is just following in that tradition, and that they actually didn't do to the game what it sounds like they did.

They've been doing too much that is worrisome and downright upsetting for me to have blind faith. The last time I kept speaking up for them and defending them, they completely let me down.

I am nervous. This could turn out unspeakably horrible. Or not. I'll wait to see.

BioWare promised that the console iterations would have no impact on the PC experience. Yet now the sequel is apparently being dumbed down in order to accomodate the consoles. No, I'm afraid I'm all out of faith for the faithless.

Good point.

I just know us PC gamers tend to freak out about our platform losing strength, so this was a dedicated message to them.

Dragon Age 2, regardless of whatever flaws the community thinks it will have, will probably come with a toolkit for PC and allow people to fix those 'flaws'.

I'm a console gamer and I wish my PC could handle Dragon Age for the mods / toolkit. :(

Why not? EA haven't been the evil empire in years. Activision took over as the bad guys of publishing a long time ago, and EA got new management who seem to like games.

Ohhhh is that right Dave? :P

So they didnt tell Bioware to make DA multi platofrm? Didnt tell bioware to make DA and ME2 dumbed down for consoles....and the average console user? Remember the bazaar?

Havent just recently disbanded a good production house?

Hmmm kk....there must be 2 EA's in the industry then.

I'll continue to have faith in Bioware until they give me a reason not to.
