I'll continue to have faith in Bioware until they give me a reason not to.

I can't have faith with anyone having the EA label permanently embroiled on it. Call me cynical or whatever, I've been around the block far to many times and have seen this company screw over so many developers and promising series to have any semblance of faith.

agreed it was palying Dragon age origins on the 360 that has finally pushed me into becoming a pc gamer, the game looks so damn goo on the pc
also it has made start pplaying game like arcanumm, baldurs gate, planescape fallout etc.. all old school but I lve them all.
can't wait until I get my laptop this fall first thing I am going to get is dragon age for the pc
anyway back on topic I too have faith not so much as a pc gamer ( because I am not yet) but as somone who enjoys good old crpgs...wich are mostly found on pc

If and when Bio produces a rubbish game, I will lose faith. I will not lose faith based on a few lines of information on the day the game is announced. That's even if I was particularly concerned by the little info revealed, which I am not.

I'm a huge fan of the original, yet I love ME2 with a passion.Sirsmirkalot wrote...
I'm just worried that they'll do to DA2 what they did to ME2; force the IP in a new direction with little regard for the fans of the original.
Don't speak for others/me.

They took a character driven RPG/shooter hybrid and took it in the crazy new direction of character driven RPG/Shooter hybridness?
Depends on the point of view :-) .
As far as I'm concerned they took a RPG with a focus on ranged combat and turned it into a RPG/Shooter hybrid that manages to miss both target as it's (as far as I'm concerned) both not a very good RPG (inferior story, global cooldown diminises combo possibilities, bad case of silent partner(*), the lacking inventory is also a missed opportunity, not because it's lacking but because of the way it's handled) and not a very good shooter (worst cover system ever, damage system that look like a rock/paper/scissor but isn't and only enforce simple methodology instead of adaptative tactics).
Thankfully the game is actually better than the sum of it's parts but still inferior to it's predecessor (going from what felt like an epic movie to what feels like a regular sci-fi TV show season).
My main problem with the game is that what they couldn't redesign to a better state they simply cut out, a design philosophy that seems to have been used again in DA2 considering the critics I read. I hope I won't be disapointed by the end result once I got to play the game as much as I've been disapointed by ME2.
(*) I still don't know if taking Grunt with you on Mordin's mission and seeing him not react at all to all the dialogs about the genophage is funny or sad.

EA version of Bioware? No, not after DA 2 do I have any faith in them. Game is a shining example of EA's modus operandi.

old school rpg gamer here who does own two consoles but games mostly on pc. I like Dragon Age2, maybe not quite as good as Origins for my taste, but its still very good.
