And you people call yourselves bioware "fans..."

Basically all I have heard from this forums oh so "loyal fans" is that this is a Mass Effect clone that is going to give you no choice, and is not even going to be an rpg anymore.... FACT: this is a leap in logic that has NO basis in any official word on the game... NONE AT ALL
RPG's are not defined by race options... again race has only mattered really in 1 rpg ever... does it kinda suck? yes. But it has nothing to do with how much of an RPG this game is. Want to know a game that is considered one of the all time greats, that was an RPG, you could only be human, and you had a single backstory (though you could change your last name)? KOTOR! KOTOR is a hell of alot more similar to the original dragon age than Mass Effect is too. So why doesnt everybody take a step back and calm the heck down.
Does everyone have a right to be upset? Yes, im a little upset too.
Does everyone have the right to blow a socket and say they refuse to buy it, its not an rpg, and it is now obviously exactly like mass effect in every way? Ofcourse, they do... But it doesnt change the fact that none of those statements have any basis in fact... at all...
Thank you for putting up with my rant...

They are immune to logic.

Bethesda fanboy myself. I like BioWare games, too. I'll play whatever games I want and enjoy what I want.Onyx Jaguar wrote...

That, and in the past 10 years gaming has gone mainstream, so these sort of things are bound to happen... it would be naive to assume it wouldn't here.

Eh, this kind of reaction happens with most games on most forums these days.
Hehe the first couple days DA:O was released you would have thought Bioware just released one of the worst games to ever grace the shelves. Now DA2 has only been announced and already we are like 'OMG this is going to SUCK compared to the game we called unredeemable trash when it was released. Bioware make it more like the game we trashed on the forums!' Ah good times.

Turning their CRPG flagship into yet another ARPG experience is not something I'm going to praise.

Well hopefully it will not happen. Not sure what 'dynamic combat' means since DAO had pretty dynamic combat but we will see.

I don't see what there is to adapt to. Some people just don't enjoy the brainless Mass Effect formula which is now getting shoehorned into Dragon Age.Dave of Canada wrote...

give people 24 hour to calm down, everyone is just shocked by all the changes
"All the changes"? What changes? We hardly know a thing yet except that you're playing as a human with the last name of Hawke, and it won't be in Ferelden. Apparently your character is from or has been in Ferelden, since they survived the Blight. You can still be any class. Oh, and for the idiots, yes, you can be a female, just like every other Bioware game.

If they could do that in DA:O then it would be SUTCH an awesome game!!!
But it really IS a great game!

How many times am I going to have to respond to you in order for you to respond back?
Prove to me that they are changing the combat system.
Prove to me that they are "dumbing it down."
Link me to where it says DA2 will be more of an ARPG.
And at that?

The fact that the writing team consists of same people who wrote Origins makes me believe that story and characters will be as good as those in DA:O.
Gameplay wise I can't predict anything since I lack the relevant information.
I am, however, a long time Bioware customer since the BG days and so far I have never bought a game from them that I didn't enjoy playing or which I thought was a waste of my money.
Sure, I liked some of their games more then I did others, but that's only to be expected.

but if they only give a small piece of information thats all you can judge it on, if that information is something you dont like why shouldnt you be able to say so. in this case the main selling points they put forward are ones that many people are not optermistic about, when that is all you have its natural to assume the worst maybe when more info is produced this will change until people are reassured to the conterary you cant blame them for expecting the worst.
finaly being loyal only means so much when it ultimately comes to something you have to buy regardless of which company is producing it. im varly loyal to bioware it doesnt mean i should assume everything they do will be good loyaltie doesnt mean you shouldnt come to your own conclusions about something.
