Humans spoke with a British accent in DAO, while from what I saw the Elves and Dwarves sounded American. So that would mean one British man/woman, one American man/woman.
And just for the record, my vote for British female voice actor goes to Keeley Hawes. Her voice makes me all gooey.

I don't know if its been brought up yet, but assuming as "Hawke" we aren't confined to playing as a human, Bioware would need to hire AT LEAST two voice actors per gender.
You're stuck playing a human.

The promo shots show Hawke as a testosterone-filled male. What happens if I want to play as a suave rogue? or a laid back mage? While either of those chars be stuck speaking like Conan the Barbarian? What if I do want to play a warrior, but I don't want to play as Conan the Barbarian, but more like say, Aragorn from LOTR? From the promo shots, I'm afraid VA on the main char will shoehorn my char into playing a Conan-like warrior or risk feeling the VA be completely out of place with my character.
I guess the main issue I have with what has been revealed so far is that I want DA 2 to be just like DA:O, not like Mass Effect. I absolutely loved the ME series for what they were, but for me DA:O is the first game BioWare has made since BG2 that best captures the awesome feeling of the BG series, and naturally I want DA 2 to stay close to that.

While this doesnt bother me personally, as I always play as a human anyway, I'm surprised more people arent losing their **** over this. It seemed like the people who preferred dwarves or elves far outnumberd the humans, or maybe I was just imagining things.

Hawke - Hey Gorlim, my old dwarven pal, can I have a word with you?
Gorlim - Not now Hawke, I have to clean the steam engine.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!!!!!

My feelings exactly Lucy. Sadly, I'm feeling a huge ME influence on DA2. I like ME2 just fine, but DA should remain its own kind of RPG.
Following a trend sometimes just don't work. ESPECIALLY WITH AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT GAME.

Also considering how Dragon Age sold more.

Hate to burst your bubble, but you ARE confined to playing as a human. Chris confirmed it.Ailith430 wrote...

I see both sides and while I do believe its true that DAO lack of voice acting created a sense of immersion for some people. I would personally like to see voice acting with 2 or 3 different options for the voice per gender so your not just stuck with that generic voice that is tailored to try to fit all types of characters but have the option of sounding tough and rugged or squirrelly and akward or whatever fits your taste. While I see peoples concern with having to be Hawke I personally got sick of being an emotionless robot that was always referred to as "Warden or ...you".
2-3 voice actors for the lines of the playable character would take a large portion out of funding, probably costing a lot of the game itself.

I love Jennifer Hale. But the manly-styled military like voice which she adopted for Shepard (which kicked ass in a lot of cutscenes) defined the character for me instead of the other way around. I couldn't relate to it as much as I could with a "mute" character, as I was always making up tthe voice/intonation in my head. I was always the spectator in ME2. It was never really role-playing for me.
EXACTLY.
For me, as well, a last name doesn't confine my character as much as a voice. Voices are very important. For me, I didn't know ME1 was voiced, so I had a very feminine character in mind... yeah. Kinda went away as soon as I clicked a dialogue option.

Ikr. I rooted for Shepard. I didn't roleplay as Shepard.

However, that was to be one of the bigger differences between Dragon age and Mass Effect: Traditional RPG dialog vs. Voiced dialog.
I'm hoping DA2 is more of the former as opposed to the latter, but I'll enjoy it either way as long as it's good.

I prefer DAO to ME primarily for the better roleplaying opportunities and range of actions. Voice Acting is probably going to require less options and it is going to make it much harder to patch or fix problematic parts of the game...we've been waiting how long for patches as it is? Imagine waiting for a voice actor to free up and record a few sentences...

I feel sad that you don't get as much choice for your character in the sequel. Oh well, might not even play it I guess.
