That the plot is not engaging, the characters are flat, and there is no colorful villain like Loghain.

My fear? That the new archdemon named EA will come and spread the blight of bad and hurried design on Dragon Age 2 because it wants to hoard more treasure and fast.
my fear as well. EA will go to bioware and tell them make a mage with only 10 spells possible, after all we have to sell this to aciton fans on the console.
Changes of this type made ME2 a forgetable game which ME for all its flaws was not. DA2 hurried in production and its core values removed. I can almost feel that dread.

ME1 was a poor game because rpg mechanics don't translate as well to 3rd person action. ME2 was superb though.
No, ME1 was an AWARD WINNING high selling highly rated RPG title w/ a bad inventory system and shaky shooting. ME2 is a very pretty Cover shooter w/ lots of story and cutscenes.

Not an "intense" 20h experience, but an epic 100h one.
exactly my wish as well, i have no idea why people kept saying DA was too long. in the end its single player so longer the better. but i fear they are concentrating more on console gaming as DA was critisized on the consoles for being harder to play. so i fear lot of chops and cuts to reduce the scope of the game. it started already with no origins story and no customization of character.

Dragon Age may have been 100 hours, but it was compelling at every moment.

That is odd because the party dynamics, the dialog, and so forth were all up to the standard. Only the combat was slightly different.
But I guess that is all Bioware games are? Combat? I play for the dialog and character ineraction so I guess they can make the rest of their games non-RPGs if that is all they are.

I'm starting to like it......Hopefully my feelings are wrong: Do we really get to chose male or female...or is this guy the only hero?!

That the fans tear it apart without giving it a chance.
Too soon, not enough info and people aren't happy unless they are complaining.

I like the combo of Character, story, combat, RPG mechanics the whole schebang. You know, like Baldur's Gate 2
I know a lot of people only care about cutscenes and pretty graphics, but games like BG2 had EVERYTHING
DAO was close, it was the start of a 3D BG2 lite. I just don't want them to Mass Effect 2-ify it.
ME1 had some shaky RPG mechanics, me and many others expected them to IMPROVE the RPG mechanics, instead they through them in the trash and made Gears of War 4 with better cutscenes.
