KotOR2 was made by Obsidian Entertainment, not Bioware.
Also: Mass Effect 1 & 2. Yes, they have let me down.
ME1 for me didn't, but ME2 did with the cutting out of rpg elements and the whole inventory and ability to arm and use armors for npc-s aswell
Also, KOTOR2 was better than KOTOR1 with the exeption that Obsidian got rushed by Lucasarts and the whole ending got messed up due to that.

I can guarantee there are going to be things I won't be too keen on about DA2, but new settings, stories and characters is not one of them.

I've heard that a vague sense of déjà vu is an excellent basis for extrapolating this kind of information on a game. It's extraordinary, really.so it's "Shepa..." sorry I mean "Hawke" now? a single protagonist that can only be human but male/female.....you're going to change the combat mechanics in such a way that brings a sense of deja-vu to me when thinking back in mass effect 2 being talked about.
I could care less, yes.but I'm sure you could care less because taking DA the route of Mass Effect 2 will surely bring you more money to gorge on then sticking true to those of us that....made you what you are.
But that's because I care a lot. Perhaps that isn't what you meant?
And we appreciate your loyalty and understanding.Good to see what was once my favorite developer...which I voiced VERY openly anytime I had the ****ing chance...turn into ****.
Thank you.have fun with your snarky comments on my post.
I honestly do hope you enjoy DA2, once you eventually learn what it is. I don't doubt it won't be to everyone's liking even then, but that should go without saying.

People on the forums shouldn't be surprised when they dismiss the comments of the developers and then get dismissal right back.
I reported a personal attack on the EA forum and didn't get a reply back from EA until three or four months after the incident, saying they just started investigating it.

Only thing that worries me is how the combat system is going to be and whether I'll want to replay it as much as I did with Origins - that's it. Everything else looks very intriguing and I'm excited about it.
So no, BioWare hasn't let me down. I know I will love the game no matter what I'm just nervous I won't love it as much as I did Origins (which is a lot).

I just don't get how people can act so personally offended. Just because it's not what you were expecting/asked Santa for doesn't mean it's going to be bad. At least wait til we have some real information. ^^;
Idc if it sounds like sucking up, I just feel the need to balance out some of this OMG RAGE... Bioware hasn't let me down yet, OP.

It's not a matter of being "personally offended" as much as "reasonably concerned":
After Mass Effect 2, reading the wording of the reveal page rings many bells, and none too pleasant.
While the reveal text might be all marketing jibberjabber, and the game might end up receiving an entirely different treatment as opposed to Mass Effect 2, I feel that stating this kind of concern is still useful insight for Bioware, as they can see how their fanbase feels and maybe avoid some pitfalls. Of course, they need to be willing to listen to the feedback, even if such feedback is preemptive.
It's still data, and data is always good.

It might mean that, to them, if they really really wanted what they were expecting.kaispan wrote...

The part where people get personally offended is just them being personally invested. It's a good thing. Well... except for the part where we shot their dog. But in our defense, he looked like a moose, I swear.
That would be appreciated, but the lack of real information on a topic has never stopped a good rant on the internet before. Wild assumptions exist to be disproven, not supported. At least wait til we have some real information.
Thanks for the kind words, kaispan.

They cannot. They granted a big exclusive full reveal to one of the worst magazines in the industry, so now they're pretty much tied and gagged for a month :innocent:

For some reason, even knowing that I won't learn anything new about DA2 until that article I can't get off of these forums.

- confirmation that character origins are not cut out, which was the main goodness for Dragon Age (and not the LOTR-clone basic story)
- confirmation that you can atleast pick the race for your character from the same options as in DA1, if not from even more
- confirmation that inventory won't be messed up, that you can still equip your own character and the npc party members just as in DA1
- confirmation that skills and abilities/spells will not be dumbed down
- confirmation that you can atleast use your endgame save file from DA1 to change events depending on the choices of your character in DA1, even if you have a fully new main character (meeting npc previous main character would be fun too)
- comfirmation that npc affilation and discussions among themself would not get less attention than in DA1

He has to. He's dealing with fans. The alternative is to turn into a drooling lunitic, kill the pope, and run through the Vatican in his small cloths.
In relation to the original post, I feel that Bioware has let me, and the rest of us, down with the release of Awakenings while it still had so many dang bugs, and then focusing on creating more DLC instead of on fixing the game we had allready paid them for. I get that they are trying to make the best patch they can and that takes time, but in my opinion, serving their fans/customers should be their first priorty.

Unfortunately it never improved. The editorial part can be defined amateurish at best, and the reviews often show that the games havn't been played for more than 1-2 hours, when they're actually played (the quite negative review of Yakuza 3 is an example, with plain wrong descriptions of how the game plays, but there are several similar instances each month). Unfortunately they have gamestop behind them, so developers are forced to grant them a lot of attention.
