Well... I have to admit.. I did get bored with ME1 still haven't finished.. and all my new games I've gotten so far are sitting on the shelf. including ME2 . why? Because I've been having so much fun with this game, DA:O and it's DLCs.. If and I pray it's NOT, DA 2 is like ME I will literally cry.. and all my other new games will get played. and I'll probably keep playing this one.. I've got many combinations and 2 more levels to play at.

If you don't examine something based on the tinyst bit of infromation and come to the conculsion that the franchise is ruined forever, then you are not a true fan. Do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars.lord berwick wrote...
I find it highly amusing that as soon as a fans vision for a sequel is vision not met, they go off in a rant criticising the very people who made the game they have invested so much in, without any information as to what the setting will be, the game dynamics etc. More importantly, though, is the lack of consideration given to the developers as to where they wish to take their franchise; the very thing they have invested their time, talents and devotion to. It's their child, let them raise it.
Look it up. It's a law, I swear.

You shoulda been at the old DA forum. That game was better than the actual game. Well, sort of. Longer anyway.Cancermeat wrote...

I'll say this to those who are all concerned about things being changed to reach a more massive audience. We already reached a massive audience with DA:O. It would be silly to make DA2 into something that the DA:O audience couldn't recognize.
There were similar statements about ME2...In the end the changes were pretty massive.

Because the things that made Mass Effect unique - dialogue, customization, character development - were changed?zazzabubu wrote...

They weren't. People brush off the tens of thousands of written and voiced dialogue and improved animations as if it wasn't difficult to include.

what character developement or costumization?
the only thing that changed was that you got a pre-made scar and you could either remove it or "work on it"
I don't think Shepard had any character developing beside placing a few skill points here and there
the story did develope further true but the same is not true of the protagonist
however, since ME1 the setting of 1 human with a preset name was already there, not like for Dragon Age

And now it means nothing. I won't be purchasing the DLC, I wont even finish my current game. This announcement of how DA2 is going to be has single handedly turned a game I could play through multiple times into something i will never pick up again.
This announcement sucks.

I was about 25 hours into another play through. I was doing all my options to decide which I wanted to bring into the 2nd game. I was looking forward to the DLC's that came out over the past couple of months to play through with my "ultimate warden" character I had been planning since day 1. That character will never be played because there is no reason to. One play through and you know what you need to know to understand DA2 now. Play through for enjoyment? Seriously? Do you see how many competitors are out there? I'd rather play something new.

Sadly, I agree. I was in the middle of another playthrough of Origins thinking what I do there might matter in DA2. SO I was having this run be my definitive one. But this announcement really sucks all the life out of my enthusiasm for DA.
I'm willing to hear more from BioWare, but they've got an uphill battle to convince me as to why I should give a crap about Hawke when as of now they've left my Warden in limbo, just like Revan and the Exile.

Seriously. Please don't use the "it's just entertainment, you don't need to think or feel" BS cop-out.
