So yes, BioWare characters count. Especially when it comes to defining fanboys.

This is about Biowares new take on game design, its got nothing to do with the characters. What, you think because I happen to care about what happens to certain characters in ME, that means every criticism I make is linked to that one subject? Of course you, since thats how you snarkily troll.

This is about a pattern Im starting to see emerging in how Bioware creates their games and exactly who they are aiming them at. Since I know you are comprehensively incapable of arguing logically without your typical OTT fanboyism tactics, I cant really bother much.

Dont worry though, Im sure some posters from your little posse will talk about how awesome you are, and post "QFT"s and you can post a few pathetic snark pics or something.

There's nothing wrong with liking video games (or anime, since you mentioned otaku). There is something wrong with making a video game or anime character the subject of an obsession and then resisting any changes that don't have to do with said character - like Dinkamus does so well.

I play Bioware's games for the story. I don't really care if they change the gameplay as long as it's still fun.

They could make the combat into a FPS and I wouldn't care if it was fun to play and the story was still good.

Considering you've been trolling for the better part of two years after finding out Liara wasn't going to be a squadmate in Mass Effect 2, sure.

This is about a pattern Im starting to see emerging in how Bioware creates their games and exactly who they are aiming them at. Since I know you are comprehensively incapable of arguing logically without your typical OTT fanboyism tactics, I cant really bother much.

Right, because BioWare is just my favorite video game developer ever.

Wait, no it isn't.

Or because Mass Effect 2 is just my favorite video game ever.

Wait, no it isn't.

Or because I happen to have a favorite BioWare character.

Wait, no I don't.

Let me guess your favorite game:
-The one that has Liara in it

Sorry if I like games because they are games, and not because I have to be so emotionally attached to a character that I have to act like I'm going through a divorce when they don't appear enough in the next game.

You are the biggest fanboy on these forums, and you continue to show it.

Lulz, thank you for conceding so gracefully Ecael.

You are too idiotic to debate rationally, so you troll with a strawman.

Shouldnt you be photoshopping ME snark pics right now?

Since arguing with Ecael is about as much use as Ecaels picspam, I will say in closing what I opened with: I dont like the new Bioware attitude. This is exactly how it started with ME2, and I saw how that ended. They wont care, since their main focus is now snaring people who DONT play their games, and since their games now are becoming garbage because of that, I soon wont be caring either.

The only people who do care, are the Biofanboys and girls who whine on threads like these about people who have the audacity to not like every single change Bioware makes. And of course when the "whiners" leave, theyll stop caring soon after too, and stick to.... picspam or something of the like.

everyone has something to protect from linguistic lynching, either faith, a favorite movie, a character of a movie or game, a book, ect

I wouldn't want any changes to Han Solo neither as example, and HE SHOT FIRST just to telll the truth while I am at it ^_^

also, i mentioned "otaku" exactly because it is a meaning more connected to "fanboyism to extreme obsession" than to simply mean "fanboy", plus as far I know it also works as something a girl can be called as in some circumstances

No, the "new" BioWare attitude that you speak of started in 2003 when they started to fund for first-person/third-person engine graphics and full voice acting, limiting what the writers can do ahead of actual game development, and reached a breaking point when BioWare chose Unreal Engine 3 for Mass Effect 1.

Sorry, you're the snarky and irrational one.

I am also worried about recent activities and results made by Bioware

... but I believe not the fact that you disagree with many here is the problem, but that you use a very harsh choice of words, one may even call it throwing insults - like a gatling gun shoots bullets - around you

Yeah I know. Its enough of a problem for Bio****s like you to cry over it.

Tell me fanboy, what is it about Bio**** that makes you want to run and defend their games from indefensible consumer criticism so? Do the devs actually cry over this and you want to protect their fragile little hearts or something?

It's so cute that you would label me as such. To be honest, I do have issues, I just don't feel the need to pop out of my hole every week or so to present said issues with such vitriol and violently attack everyone who doesn't feel the same way I do. Something you do with stunning regularity.

But, in the end, most of my gripes (with any game) have more to do with core gameplay mechanics and asthetics, things that are actually broken and universally despised and not whether something is a (good or bad) arrpeegee feature or not, or whether my fictional blue girlfriend was treated fairly or showed off her sideboob.

So, you can say I do care. Not about the devs, but about the products as a whole. I care that they make a solid final product for everyone, not just for elitists who think their particular style of gameplay is superior to others.

Lol, pay attention you little pic spammer. My entire point is Im not doing that this time. ME2 was the first Bioware game I did, and since its becoming commonplace now by the looks of things, Im running out of reasons to bother with Bioware anymore.

You see, Im such a big fanboy that Ill be moving to other games in future. I mean, surely they can fit Liara into them right?

If not, Ive always got Baldurs Gate II, my favourite Bioware game of all time, with my favourite character Liara being the centre of the game...

Anyways, I made my point, you couldnt adress it without a strawman argument, and I think thats wasted enough time for one day.

As if you don't lurk the forums and complain every time BioWare makes a big announcement - just like now, just like every major DLC announcement.

Just so you know, moderators automatically know the IP addresses of all accounts, so they know when someone is using multiple accounts. So complaining on several different accounts just makes you look even more foolish.

And I bet you won't find any game that's going to meet that exceedingly high standard that you've set for yourself - Liara or not.

just a sidenote: many nations including my own don't have permanent IP-s, they get changed every second or so day via the servers, so an IP is not meaning anything but email address and account name do

Yes Bioware has let me down.

ME2. Cant mouse double click, cant mouse wheel scroll, lack of hotkeys. Basic PC/Mouse support doesnt exist is ME2, its a console port.

Hopefully DA2 doesnt follow that example.

Even so, you can still judge the approximate location of where they're posting from once you have their IP address. So even if your ISP doesn't have a static IP, it's still fairly clear if it's the same person posting.

I haven't read through all 14 pages of this thread, but this post struck me as utterly hilarious, and sad at the same time.  Someone needs to put down the controller and step away from the video games.  Too much emotional investment here.  "Biofanboys"????  What/who exactly is that?  Someone who has obviously played ME series, DAO and has silly fan groups in their signature???

ME2 was pretty good and pretty universally praised, in case you didn't catch it.  Ecael, whoever that is, makes an excellent observation above....
