Well, ever since Baldur's Gate 2, Bioware has failed time and time again to live up to my lofty expectations. But then again, my own disappointment is most certainly because of my extreme love of the distinguishing features that made BG2 the best of them all, rather than BW itself.

Time and people move on, it's just hard for some people like me to do the same.

BioWare has never let me down, because I have realistic and mature expectations.

Either that or extremely low standards.

They've let me down repeatedly. The combat and lack of customization in Jade Empire. The combat of Mass Effect and even worse combat and stripping of customization and inventory in Mass Effect 2. Horse Armour Alternate Appearance downloads. Bioware Bazaar.
Dragon Age was a step back from this trend of theirs to more action. Based on their press release and the official site, they seem intent on ruining that now.

I'm assuming I must have really low standards; I've not played a BioWare game that's dissapointed me yet. =] Am I one of the lucky few?

Ah, ok. True, it is about as successful in drawing in lost souls as crack cocaine.

Well I always prepare for the worst case scenario when it comes to BioWare hype, but even with that pessimism, BioWare manages to make me feel disappointed.

NWN, maybe. But I've enjoyed every game from them since that.

Just twice: BioWare Bazaar and making the DR ending of Origins canon.

Thrice if you count not having hear about another community event, which was supposed to get announced in the following weeks.

Could be worse, I guess, especially compared to how I think of most other developers.

When did that happen?

Awakening showed us very clearly that the US ending of Origins did canonically not take place, which in my eyes meant that it would only be a matter of time until the two similar endings were retconned in favor of the DR ending, which obviously provides for a greater future plot.

That time being today, what with dragon lady over there pretty much confirming my fears.

NWN OC and first expansion were both pretty horrible, especially after what many had come to expect after the BG series.  Awakening was also not nearly as finished a product as it could have been.  So yeah, they have.

Depends on what you mean by "let me down". If minor issues that I wish had turned out better count, then sure, plenty of times.

If you mean major disappointments, well, there was the NWN1 campaign. Only Bioware game I stopped playing halfway in disgust.

No, Bioware games have not yet dissapointed me. And its impressive how good RPG they can make from shooters, action games etc.

However, many DLCs are full of fail, with some shinning above (Blood Dragon Armor, Stone Prisoner to name some)

BW hasn't produced a game that has lived up to my expectations since Baldur's Gate 2. DA:O is the one exception. The replay value was great and I've set it on my shelf with other great games. Awakening I didn't buy and as it is I doubt I will buy this one.

Not really.

Realistic: "BioWare is making an MMO?  Well, I don't enjoy nor do I follow the genre, so I can't really speak to its quality.  Oh well."

Unrealistic: "Why isn't BioWare catering to the game genres that I enjoy?"

Mature: "After having played TOR to obtain a sound opinion of it, BioWare as let me down."

Immature: "Though I have never played TOR, I know that it would be a let down."

Realistically Mature: "Though I don't enjoy MMOs, the existence of a BioWare MMO - of which I have no intent to play - has no baring on whether or not they have fulfilled my expectation as a consumer."

Unrealistically Immature:

What I have seen of the results of SWtOR has let me down tremendously. It would have to be an almost completely different game from what was seen in E3 to not be a let down.

I see TOR as a necessary evil, imagine the money they'd rake in if it surpassed WoW - now take that funding and support their other games with it.

That is SOOOOO true... That's ONE game I'm REALLY looking forward to!!! Not because I''m sick and tired of WoW (but I am!!) It's because it's STAR WARS!!!! << Insert the BIGGEST smiley here>>

Yes, I'm immature because every MMO I've played has sucked, and now one of my favorite series is being made into one of these. Indeed, I am immature to a tee.

Don't be ridiculous. Just because Bioware is making it doesn't mean it will be made of gold.

NWN OC and Shadows of Undrentide. Pretty dire. Though to be fair, they pulled it round with Hordes, and the sheer amount of mods I've played for NWN still makes it the best value for money game I've ever bought, poor OC or not. Other than that, happy. A great story populated with memorable characters is what I want, and what I'm almost certain I'll get. x

ME2 was big letdown for me. There were hardly any RPG elements. About 10 side quests that took about 2 mins to complete.
