The only thing that would let me down is if they changed the battle system to a more action oriented style instead a true RPG, everything else, I am pretty much on board.
This is really my only concern as well.

Thanks for the votes of confidence, from those of you who, you know, gave votes of confidence.
There's a lot of info in the upcoming Game Informer issue, and once that's out, we can talk a lot more. It directly addresses a lot of the questions out there. I can say, "don't worry, you'll love this game," until I lose my voice. But it won't mean anything til you get the big infodump that's coming.
I'll say this to those who are all concerned about things being changed to reach a more massive audience. We already reached a massive audience with DA:O. It would be silly to make DA2 into something that the DA:O audience couldn't recognize.
the DR is canonized in DA2? I wasn't aware any more information was releasedKaiser Shepard wrote...
Just twice: BioWare Bazaar and making the DR ending of Origins canon.
Thrice if you count not having hear about another community event, which was supposed to get announced in the following weeks.
Could be worse, I guess, especially compared to how I think of most other developers.
very nice to hear. especially since panic was slowly starting to creep into my optimism.Victor Wachter wrote...

ME2 was a gigantic disappointment.
Awakening was also a disappointment.
And the only DLC I've really thought worthwhile so far was Leliana's Song.
So, yeah, BioWare's going to have to earn my faith for this one, and they're off to a bad start.

Victor, can I ask why theres a blanket Ban on Bioware employees actually saying 'anything'......how much money did Game Informer pay EA?
sorry, but for a magazine to have first rights over whats what, over you guys is quite frankly....a little disturbing.

Great. But I would've thought the same after ME 1. But apparently, the thinking went like this: Reaching a massive audience is great, but reaching an even bigger audience is even better. So basically, BioWare took the existing fans for granted and changed a lot to make the successor more appealing to the mass market. Unfortunately I will have to assume the same about DA 2 for now, until credible (!) reviews tell me otherwise.

Now, I firmly believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but how are they off to a "bad" start" when all they did announce the game exists? All we know is that the main character's name is Hawke. We don't know if "Hawke" is always a man (the promotional art doesn't count: Commander Shepard is always portrayed as a man in official artwork, and we all know you cna be a woman), we do know you can be any of the three base classes. That's about it. Unless you mean that you won't be continuing the story with your old Warden, which I honestly believed was an obvious move on their part. To many variable in the ending of the first game to export. They tried to do it with Awakening, afterall, and look how many people were less than pleased with the result.

I didn´t feel the changes were that big in ME2, but with DA almos anything changed from gameplay is already big, being a more traditional RPG. No races Origins is bad enough, but if I see anything of a more friendly combat system then is time to start seriously worrying.bjdbwea wrote...

With Mass Effect's dialogue they give you a very short outline of what the character is going to say. This allows for a more streamlined experience instead of reading through all the dialogue. In Mass Effect the player character is voiced, If they gave you a dialogue system like Dragon Age it would get annoying reading what the character is going to say then listening to it.UberDuber wrote...
Can anybody tell me. What is the point in this voiced dialog ( like mass effect )
They say the completely different thing? to what it says on the screen!
1. Awakening was rushed and wasn't made by Dragon Age's core team. It was made by the DLC team.Onyx Jaguar wrote...
Everything about ME 2 sucked, they are ruining DA 2 but turning it into ME 2. First Awakening now this. They are dumbing down Dragon Age to appeal to a mass audience. To think I once respected Bioware.
