I hope we can make him join the wardens later.Or at least the plot will be related to the wardens, the darkspawn and the lore we know from the first game

I kind of want a different story instead of fighting the darkspawn and stopping the blight again.

Why would the Wardens even factor into a new story? The Blight is over. I don't understand some people.

There's two more blights to go.

Personally, I don't want Grey Wardens or Darkspawn. Thedas is big enough for there to be multiple points of interest.

Maric and Loghain weren't Grey Wardens and they had a whole damn book written about them.

Well, playing a Grey Warden in Origins might make some people attached to them, that's crazy right?
Also, the Grey Wardens are important Blight or not, not saying that I personally want Hawke to be a Warden but I think the Wardens should play a part in the story, specially seeing the concept art features darkspawn.

200 years or so inbetween them
If Hawke is the last survivor of a village consumed by the 5th Blight. . . . chances are he won't live to see the 6th or 7th

Screw Wardens, screw dying in 30 years, screw getting drafted into an organization that gets lolwiped within a day of my joining, screw it all.

I'm glad that our protagonist is fighting for himself, for once.

I see the lack of Grey Wardens as a promising aspect. The last thing Dragon Age needs to be is a serialized retelling of an endless battle with dirty orcs. There's so much more to the world than Blights and Grey Wardens which were suppose to be small and, for most of recent history, unimportant.

So you hate Hawke so much you want him dead sooner? o.o

None of your other companions are wardens. They get mauled at by darkspawn all the time and they're fine. No point being a warden, it just makes you die earlier. lol

Thankfully, elves, dwarves, and mages can still judge you for being a human commoner.  yey more drama!

but the only interesting part of the lore of dragon age are grey wardens, the deep roads, the blight, the story of the old gods, the tevinter mages, the fade. Those elements stand aside and make the lore epic, without them the rest of the lore is bland and unappealling. elfs meh, tower mage meh, antiva and rivain meh, orlais the same. Generic races, generic countries, generic fantasy settings.

It's like mass effect, without thestory of shepard and the threat of the reapers it's just a bunch of races interacting in the galaxy, like your regular sci-fi program, that's why a mass effect mmo without shepards and reapers makes no sense.

What will we do in antiva? kill crowds? and in orlais? buy shoes? will we spend our time "rising to power" buying houses and charming peasants like in Fable? collect 20 potions for the guild of thieves? that's generic rpg storylines, I want to kill gods, to enter the palace of the maker, to die in the deep roads killing darkspawn, to command glyphons on the battlefield.

Being a grey warden meant something big and legendary, now we are going to be a medieval Niko Bellic?

You can't possibly be complaining about this when we have so little information to go on so far. Seriously, you're jumping way ahead of yourself and you have no really legitimate causes for complaint except the fact that he's not a Warden, which you should have seen coming anyway.

Once Bioware release more information and Hawke does indeed seem like a medieval Niko Bellic, then sure, go nuts.

Anyway, there's plenty about the lore that is interesting. The Darkspawn were explored a lot in DA:O and Awakenings (thought not completely). We don't need another main story that revolves around them. I'd be much more interested in a plot surrounding the Fade.

The parts of Dragon Age I find most interesting would like them to explore in order are the Fade and its Demons, the God Child, Flemeth, Andraste and the Maker, Elven Ancestors, and the Tevinter Imperium (the remnants). I actually found the Darkspawn fairly boring (although the Deep Roads setting was awesome).

But I think this is a weakness that Bioware should attempt to correct. The problem with Dragon Age: Origins lore was so much was told and not shown. A bunch of journal entries and some party chat about distant places is okay but feels a bit dry next to the main story content of Fade, Grey Wardens and Darkspawn. Hopefully they will flesh out those areas that were merely referred to in passing in DA:O as well as developing the most interesting aspects.

Seeing as you'll have the surname Hawke and the fact that most people will refer to you as Hawke(where has this been in idk?) and that the darkspawn aren't that much of a concern as much as it pains me to say it hawke probleby won't be a grey warden with this rise to power shtick(Where have I seen this??? idk.) the most we'll get is him being a commander of an army.

Grey Wardens suck, there's no point in becoming one if there's no archdemon

Since DA2 takes place after the fifth Blight(meaning, right after DAO), Mike Hawke COULD become a Grey Warden, but it wouldn't really matter.

It's called dragon age because everything is made out of dragons the Chantry names a new era after a sign.
