You have fixed origin, dude who survived blight, when noone in his village dont.
Which means, you are not locked down in a Circle.
Which means you wont be mage.
Am I wrong? Please say Im wrong.

You don't need the Circle to be a mage.
You can be a mage.

We'll have to wait and see I suppose?
Anyways I have a hard time picturing that Bearded man as a mage.

There's also apostates, witches of the wild, isolated village, political turmoil between mages and chantry.
Or, you know, the massive, continent-shattering Blight siphoning off resources the Chantry spends on finding mage children.

That said, remember you can customise Hawke's appearance anyway.

Poor, iconic Hawke. Ostracized for the sake of his beard...
"Your beard is insufficiently magey! Either shave, or reroll warrior!"

Can you still have the beard while female? It is a dealbreaker for me.

Is there any confirmation we are stuck with that character design?SnakeHelah wrote...

Salvation!
So now we can be a legal apostate or maleficarum? The tempar's chase and prey sounds exciting.

Perhaps the game is really about Hawke's 10-year quest to transform his beard into something more magey?
All in favor of giving up on this "RPG" thing and making DA2 a beard-growing sim, say "aye"...

What?! I thought beards were stereotypically wizardly.
More like stereotypically awesome. I've always wanted a beard since childhood as a kid growing up on Star Trek TNG.
