Me hearing you can only play human is huge let down and only choose male or female! We don't want mass effect in our dragon age i love mass effect but i come to dragon age for real rpg where you can make and choose how you want them to be in this there is only one origin and it sounds bad.


I would take no voiced character so i can be any race and any origin over being one origin and one race only just for a stupid voice work on main character.

HEY they JUST announced the game, you dont know yet wether you can play elf or dwarf er not, maybe human is default choice

Sure, its your right to be. However I would indeed wait for some gameplay and more info before passing judgement

The difference, and it is key, is that in Mass Effect you play as a predetermined character named John Sheppard. You can chose between John Sheppard in a good mood or John Sheppard in a bad mood, and you can give John a sex change and some plastic surgery, but who John Sheppard is doesn't really change.

In Dragon Age: Origins, you create a character almost 100% your own, only limited by the dialog options (far, far more varied than in Mass Effect).

Don't misread me here, I'm not calling one style preferable to another. However, I already own Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2; I'm not terribly interested in Fantasy Mass Effect. I want Dragon Age. I want to design and create my own "perfect hero".

I was hoping the combat system would get deeper. Hopefully it doesn't go to far in the ME2 direction and dumb it down. I'll be happy regardless I imagine.

i only hope the fighting system remains the same. in ME it made perfectly sense to shoot the enemys "directly".. but "rise of the argonauts" dragon age .... BAH!

Unfortunatly Bioware has said in other posts that you do play as a human but this will not break the game! If you have proof that DA2 has similarities to ME2 please post the link and I will believe you. Oh and I saw in another link that Bioware said and I quote

"I'll say this to those who are all concerned about things being changed to reach a more massive audience. We already reached a massive audience with DA:O. It would be silly to make DA2 into something that the DA:O audience couldn't recognize."

If this isn't proof enough for you that they aren't changing DA2 into ME2 I don't know what is and all I have to say is wait until more info is released.

this start to remind me off the days following biowares rather horrible sex and voilance trailer during e3. People and reviewers started freaking out dissmissing the game but later came back in shame when it turned out to be just as good as they hoped for

People who worked on ME 2, I imagine, are now working on DA 2. Lol, get used to it mate.

Depending on your view, this is good or bad.  For me, I miss old style RPGs.  I guess I will fire up Morrowind again...
