So I don't get to play my character from DA:O and will never find out what happens to him after Awakening and I have to play some ****** instead...

Good to know I wasted time

So vote with your wallet, and don't get DA2 if you're that attached to your Warden.  There's always fanfiction :)

I'm personally thrilled that we get to play over the course of a decade, and I think it's the most exciting development so far.  The passage of time tends to be a problem in BioWare RPGs; I just generally get the vague sense that they all take place anywhere from a few months to about a year and a half, and that's it.  Except ME2, which doesn't count since you were completely out for the two intervening years.  I hope we get to play, develop, and advance the character through all ten years, rather than an ME2 style cut.

The way I see it the "Hawke" person is just another King Calenhad , but one that we get to play ,
does say int he codex that the Free Marches resemble the Bannorn , so yea I can "Hawke" Uniting all of the Free Marches and becoming King.

I thought DA 2 was most likely going to take place in Ferelden again seeing as that is where the blight took place.

Not attached to my Warden, worried that anything he did will have NO significance in DA2. If the only reason to Origins is to learn about the lore when DA2 is out I'll just read it on the Wiki instead of playing it over again. The idea of DA2 is interesting and all I'm just wondering if there will be ANY connection to DA:O and DA:A...also I want more Awakened Darkspawn.

Don't remember where on the forums, but I do remember one of the BioWare guys saying DA:O will be connected to DA2 and have an impact on it.  Though the statement was vague enough where it could mean anything from save game imports to "Oh yeah that one Warden...."

Nope. Free Marches.

 Span of 10 years.

Basically it sounds like it's gonna be assassins creed 2.

If it's taking place over a span of ten years, I wonder if we'll have some ability to change our character's appearance as time passes. It'd be odd for a game with facegen to lock us to a single hairstyle and apparent age over the course of a full decade.

Even Ezio got a beard :D.

I wonder how it will be done. Will the game be divided in chapters saying "5 years later..." or will we just play the game in one piece and be surprised when one of the characters says "Remember when we met 2 years ago..." when you only picked them up a couple of hours of playtime ago.

I really hope the game will make clear how much time has passed. I heard somwhere that DAO took place over 2 years and it really didn't seem that way to me.

This is an interesting concept albeit not an entirely original one. I just read Sword in the Storm (book 1 of the Rigante series) by David Gemmell. I hope Hawke's 'Rise to Power' would be just as intriguing as Connavar's (with all the emotional turmoil, guilt trip etc.)

Do the main quests for one time period and it'll jump ahead to the next with Varric narrating. That's how I reckon it'll happen.

Edit: Ack, only just noticed now that it's months old ;)
