DAO's romances were written very well, better than ME's, however the approval system ruins everything since I can do all dialogue options in one dialogue (thus getting my approval +50) and never talk to my LI again (I slept with Morrigan before going to Lothering and never spoke to her again except during her quest) and that ruins any kind of progression (Leliana fell in love with me in less than an hour after I spammed her with gifts). ME's romances were more gradual for me

So you want one conversation per mission. Great. There's an easy solution don't shower them with gifts.

I didn't give Morrigan ANY gifts and she slept with me before Lothering

Then you're an idiot and did all of her dialog at flemeths hut. Now you want it so all the characters get five converations. Just control yourself it's not that dificult.

I like the approval system, but I DON'T like that physical attributes (Major Magic, Major Strength) etc. are tied to the approval system. It basically compels me to be on EVERYONE'S good side, even if I fundamentally disagree with them... all for the sake of better stats.

She's an easy lay, as is Zevran.

This doesn't mean the 'romance' is over, this isn't Mass Effect where sleeping with somebody means the romance is over. There's a LOT in romances after you sleep with them.

This I understand, my **** was getting punished for being an **** and never recieved anything good while my lawful good paladin archtype was loved by people who didn't even like good people.

I see what you mean, and somewhat disagree. Sure, it is easy (mostly) to romance i DA:O, but at the same time it's to limited in ME. I kind of want to be able to do the dialouges whenever I want to. Perhaps a hybrid of sorts would be best. (If one dare assume there will be romances at all... I sure hope so!)

Bioware and Romance subplots are fused at the hip.

Why have the approval system? They're not gonna have romances in the game anyway. Awakening was a test run to remove the romances for a wider audience.

I see your point, but seriously, the approval system gives relationships with party members a certain dynamic which is lacking in ME2's "loyalty" system.

Are you sure you're not overreacting?

And that's coming from me, which says a lot.

True, but Awakenings lack of this made me scared. I could not sleep at night after the lack of digital, fabricated love. Though, they probably just left out romance in it because of lack of time or something.

And I do hope they don't go backwards to limiting LI to hetero/"lesbian" as in ME. That would really be step back I thnk.
