Bloody sure it will. To me Dragon Age = party based RPG, starring custom generated silent main protagonist, Baldur's Gate with gore and ******.
will what? ruin, it? or improve?

I think if they keep it like that and the voice acting is versatile enough to keep it interesting, sure.

Awakening was pretty darn close to ME2 as far as the companions went and Leliana's Song was darn near identical as far as having a set lead character and minimal interaction with the companions. For Leliana's Song, it made sense. For DA2? I'm not so certain it would, at least not with it being a sequel to a game that is the complete opposite of that.

I'm trying to withhold judgment til we actually have details about DA2. Keyword there is trying. Hardly seems fair to do otherwise at this point. That being said, so far I'm not particularly pleased that we can only be human, I'm rather partial to playing elves for some reason.. (Gotta be the ears.) I like ME and ME2, but I really would hate to see DA2 go in that direction. It wouldn't be the same if they did that and I'm honestly not sure I'd like DAO as much as I do if it were that limited.

im glad someone actually read what i posted. you and i agree, while i like ME and ME2, and i like DA they are two different games, and thus should be in the way it plays out. there is much more gray (lol) area in DA. while in ME and ME2, there is still gray but sometimes comes across as too naive, or utter D-BAGness.

Morrigan, who during the Dark Ritual screwed it up and got burned up badly and forced to go inside a suit made out of magic that looks suspiciously like Tali's outfit.

I hope that Dragon Age 2 doesn't attempt to copy too many elements from Mass Effect.
In the Dragon Age, explorers in Orlais discovered the remains of an ancient bowstring using civilization. In the decades that followed, these mysterious artifacts revealed startling new technologies, enabling horse travel to the furthest country. The basis for this incredible technology was a force that controlled the very fabric of animals and flax. They called it the greatest discovery in dwarven history.
The civilizations of Thedas call it... DRAGON AGE 2.
[intro cinematic showing Hawke standing in a carriage looking all heroic and stuff]
[fast foward]
You go to a distant land called Prime Eden. During the visit you're attacked by the ancient Kreth, a race of golems that threw their masters the Qunarians into exile. As you move through the recently attacked land, you find out that a rogue Grey Warden has planted explosive traps around the camp that will explode and leave no evidence that you were there.
After you disarm the traps, you approach an ancient artifact left behind by the Vroteans that knocks you unconcious.

Does this mean we'll have Hawkeloo instead of Sheploo? Or has Mike Hawke officially stuck as the unfortunate name of the unfortunate male marketing protagonist?
