Fantasy Mass Effect?

Which was that Dragon Age Origins was a sort of throwback to the baulder's gate style of play in both combat and story telling.
By trying to make it a more focused action game, bioware relies heavily on their weakness as a developer which is action, no offense to any of them. The best parts of origin was that everyone's playthough felt completely uniqe due to their character's origin story.
If their trying to make it more like Mass Effect, in which, despite all the hype, everyone's playthough was pretty much the same, then I think they'll lose what was so fun about DA:O.
I'm just hoping that all this talk of a more focused experience won't supercede the origional intent to get back to Bioware's roots.

Is it the character's surname that hints this? or the two art pics?

I kinda have to agree with dversion... and please know that I loved... no really... LOVED MassEffect2 and I cant wait for 3.
Okay, I am not saying it would not work, and I am not against the idea of making a cinematic/action/roleplay game based in the Ferelden-Realms (wtf ever), however, turning "Dragon Age 2" into this would be like making FIFA2014 into a flight-simulator. It could be lots of fun, and could sell millions, but its not a rightfull sequel to FIFA2010 which was a sports game.
In the end of the day, PLEASE don't take away our classic stratigic fantasy role-playing games!
and don't do kotor again... the ME-effect was the right choice there ;D
Thanks!

It could be the;
"Think like a general and fight like a Spartan with dynamic new combat
mechanics that put you right in the heart of battle whether you are a
mage, rogue, or warrior."
Last time that Bioware over hulled the base elements of a game we went form an RPG with Guns to Gears of War with a better story and characters.

Don't worry, it's going to be like Mass effect. You're going to have a default face (Billy Mays) for male, and for female. Like in Mass effect, you will be able to throw away defaults and customize hair, face, etc.
but no matter what it still remains a damn human

No no, it's not a fantasy Mass Effect. It is a Dark Fantasy Mass Effect.
No, it's a Dark Heroic Fantasy Mass Effect.

I'm sure the game will be and sell great, not doubt there.
But for someone who loves classic RPGs, which include party management, world travel, item-management and group-combat, it sounds a little disappointing.
Dragon Age Origins as I recall, was always hailed as the saviour of classic RPGs and as such was an extremely successful product.

If it really does get the "Mass Effect 2 treatment" I'll feel a little sad for the classic RPG genre.

very true, most fears come from how typical rpg elements got ripped out from ME2, and how people fear it may also happen with DA2 (well, no option to play as anything else than human and the loss of origins are already confirmed so most people seem sadly to even underestimating the danger)
